Abstrak

The objective of this research are (1) the relationship with the interest in writing an argumentative writing skills English Education majors STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro, (2) the relationship of exercise intensity with the ability to write an argumentative student majoring in English Education STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro, (3) the relationship Learning Resource Availability with the ability to write argumentative English Education majors STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro, and (4) the relationship of interest in writing and Availability of Learning Resources with the ability to write argumentative English Education majors STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method with a correlation technique. The method used to determine the level of relationship between the independent variable and dependent variable. Data were collected using an instrument that has been established through each variable. Furthermore, the events observed and the sought relation between the elements of one with the other interrelated. The result of this research shows that (1) there is a positive relationship and significant interest in writing to the student's ability to write an argumentative text STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro with a correlation coefficient of 0.728 or 53.0% (2) there is a positive and significant relationship with exercise intensity argumentative text writing skills of students with STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro correlation coefficient of 0.734 or 53.9%, (3) there is a significant positive relationship and availability of learning resources with the ability to write an argumentative text STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro student with a correlation coefficient of 0.663 or 44.0%, and (4) there is a relationship positive and significant interest in writing, exercise intensity, and the availability of learning resources with the ability to write an argumentative text STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro student with a correlation coefficient of 0.856 or 73.2%. Keywords : interest in writing, exercise intensity, availability of learning resources, and writing argumentative texts Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) hubungan minat menulis dengan kemampuan menulis argumentatif mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro, (2) hubungan intensitas latihan dengan kemampuan menulis argumentatif mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro, (3) hubungan Ketersediaan Sumber Belajar dengan kemampuan menulis argumentatif mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro, dan (4) hubungan minat menulis dan Ketersediaan Sumber Belajar dengan kemampuan menulis argumentatif mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik korelasional. Metode tersebut digunakan untuk mengetahui tingkat keeratan hubungan antara variabel bebas dengan variabel terikat. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen yang telah ditetapkan melalui masing-masing variabel. Selanjutnya, kejadian-kejadian tersebut dicermati dan dicari hubungannya antara unsur satu dengan yang lainnya yang saling berkaitan. Hasil penelitian adalah (1) terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan minat menulis dengan kemampuan menulis teks argumentatif mahasiswa STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,728 atau 53,0% (2) terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan intensitas latihan dengan kemampuan menulis teks argumentatif mahasiswa STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,734 atau 53,9%, (3) terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan ketersediaan sumber belajar dengan kemampuan menulis teks argumentatif mahasiswa STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,663 atau 44,0%, dan (4) terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan minat menulis, intensitas latihan, dan ketersediaan sumber belajar dengan kemampuan menulis teks argumentatif mahasiswa STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,856 atau 73,2%.
