Abstrak

Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis dan belief siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 25 Bandar Lampung tahun ajaran 2013/2014 yang terdistribusi dalam delapan kelas. Dengan teknik purposive sampling, terpilih siswa kelas VIII H dan VIII I sebagai sampel. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan representasi matematis dan skala belief. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis masalah berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa, namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap belief siswa. This quasi experimental research aimed to know the influence of problem based learning model towards student’s mathematical representation skill and belief. The population of this research was all students of grade 8thof SMPN 25 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2013/2014 that was distributed into eight classes.By purposive sampling technique, it was chosen students of VIII H and VIII I class as samples. The research data were obtained by test of mathematical representation skill and belief scale. The result of data analysis showed that the problem based learning affects the student’s mathematical representation skill,but it couldn’t affects the student’s belief.
