The purpose of this research was to determine the production of biogas from palm oil empty fruit bunches through the dry fermentation process. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Power and Agricultural Machinery, Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering and Laboratory of Agroindustrial Waste Treatment, Department of Agroindustrial Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung in February to May 2014. The research was conducted by the two treatments using palm oil empty fruit bunches with cow dung and biogas digestate as inoculums. The results showed that at 41 days of retention days, the productivity of biogas from EFB was relatively compareable at 1084.4 l/Kg VSremoved with digestate as inoculum and at 1074.6 l/kg VSremoved with cow dung as inoculum. The content of CH4 in the biogas produced using digestate reached 40.1%, greater than the content of CH4 in the biogas produced from cow dung which was 36.1%. Key words : Dry Fermentation, EFB, Biogas production. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui produksi biogas yang dihasilkan dari limbah tandan kosong kelapa sawit melalui proses dry fermentation. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Daya dan Alat Mesin Pertanian Jurusan Teknik Pertanian dan Laboratorium Pengolahan Limbah Agroindustri Jurusan Teknologi Hasil Pertanian Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Lampung pada bulan Februari sampai Mei 2014. Penelitian dilakukan dengan dua perlakuan yaitu menggunakan tandan kosong kelapa sawit dengan inokulum kotoran sapi dan tandan kosong kelapa sawit dengan inokulum digestate sisa produksi biogas menggunakan limbah cair kelapa sawit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada HRT 41 hari produktivitas biogas dari limbah TKKS dari dua perlakuan adalah hampir sama, yaitu 1.084,4 l/kg VSremoved dengan inokulum digestate dan 1.074,6 l/Kg VSremoved dengan inokulum kotoran sapi. Kandungan CH4 pada hasil produksi biogas dari limbah TKKS dengan inokulum digestate mencapai 40,1 % lebih besar dibandingkan dengan kandungan CH4 pada pada hasil produksi biogas dari limbah TKKS dengan inokulum kotoran sapi yang hanya mencapai 36,1 %.
