Abstract
Penggunaan berbagai jenis bahan litter (sekam padi, serutan kayu, dan jerami padi) dalam pemeliharaan broiler dapat memengaruhi performa broiler yang dipelihara di closed house. Hal ini karena setiap jenis litter mempunyai sifat daya serap air yang berbeda. Closed house merupakan kandang tertutup yang bertujuan untuk menciptakan kondisi lingkungan di dalam kandang menjadi lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) mengetahui pengaruh alas litter terhadap performa broiler di closed house dan (2) mencari litter yang terbaik bagi performa broiler di closed house. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 26 hari dari 14 April -- 10 Mei 2014, di closed house milik PT Ramajaya Farm di Desa Krawangsari, Kecamatan Natar, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Broiler yang digunakan adalah broiler strain cobb dengan merk dagang CP 707 produksi PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk sebanyak 270 ekor. Broiler mulai mendapatkan perlakuan umur 14--26 hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri atas tiga perlakuan dengan ulangan sebanyak enam kali, yaitu P1 : sekam padi ; P2 : serutan kayu ; P3 : jerami padi. Data yang dihasilkan dianalisis ragam, apabila dari analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan penggunaan litter berbeda nyata pada taraf 5 %, maka analisis dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa : (1) penggunaan litter sekam padi, serutan kayu, dan jerami padi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P˃0,05) terhadap performa (konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot tubuh, konversi ransum, dan income over feed cost) broiler di closed house (2) perlakuan jenis bahan litter (sekam padi, serutan kayu, dan jerami padi) pada closed house memberikan pengaruh yang sama baiknya terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat tubuh, konversi ransum, income over feed cost (IOFC) pada broiler fase finisher. Abstract Bahasa Inggris THE EFFECT OF LITTER, RICE HULL, WOOD SHAVINGS, STRAW ON BROILER PERFORMANCE AT CLOSED HOUSE Using varians of litter such us rice hull, wood shavings, straw on keeping the broiler, can affect broiler performance. Its happen because every single litter has different power of absorbing the water. Closed house is closed cage that build for making a better environment inside the cage. The aim of the research was to : (1) Knowing the effect of litter of broiler performance, and (2) Finding the bes tlitter for broiler performance on the closed house. It was conducted during 26 days since April 14, 2014 to Mei 10, 2015 at the PT Ramajaya farm’s on Krawangsari village, sub District Natar, South Lampung District. The chiken used was broiler strain cobb with trademark CP 707 product by PT. Chareon pokphand Indonesia tbk for 270 chiken. Broiler start to get handling between age of 14 and 26 days. The research method was experimentally with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) were divided into 3 step and repeated for 6 times, that is p1: rice hull; p2 : wood shavings; p3 : straw. The data were analysis with Analysis of Variance and if it shows 5%, then the analyze would be continued to Ducan test. The result indicated that the treatmentis : (1) The effect of litter from rice hull, wood shavings, straw did not have significant effect (P>0,05) on performance (consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion and income over feed cost) broiler at closed house. (2) The effect varians of litter (rice hull, wood shavings, straw) at closed house having the same effect as consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion and income over feed cost (IOFC) for broiler finisher phase Key words : broiler, litter, performance, closed house
