Abstrak

Ikan nila GIFT merupakan salah satu jenis ikan nila yang mempunyai nilai ekonomis tinggi dan merupakan komoditas penting dalam bisnis ikan air tawar dunia. Penyakit Streptococcosis dilaporkan telah banyak menimbulkan kerugian pada sistem budidaya ikan nila. Penyebab penyakit tersebut adalah bakteri Streptococcus iniae. Upaya pengendalian penyakit yang dilakukan biasanya dengan menggunakan obat– obatan, namun dapat berdampak negatif terhadap ikan apabila terus menerus digunakan, sehingga diadakan pendekatan lain untuk melihat kemampuan suatu bahan alami dalam meningkatkan ketahanan tubuh ikan nila terhadap penyakit Streptococcosis menggunakan rumput laut Ulva sp. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mempelajari pengaruh Ulva sp. sebagai suplemen pakan ikan dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda dan mengetahui konsentrasi Ulva sp. yang tepat dalam mempengaruhi pengendalian bakteri S. iniae. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei-Juni 2014 di Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Lampung. Model rancangan yang digunakan adalah RAL dengan perlakuan penambahan Ulva sp. (0%/kg pakan; 4%/kg pakan; 8%/kg pakan; 12/kg pakan; 16/kg pakan) dan 3 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan Ulva sp. dalam pakan berpengaruh nyata terhadap peningkatan respon imun ikan nila. Dosis terbaik suplementasi Ulva sp. dalam pakan yaitu penambahan 4% Ulva sp. yang efektif sebagai imunostimulan yang dilihat dari total leukosit, persentase limfosit dan aktifitas fagositosis tertinggi. Kata kunci : ikan nila, Streptococcosis, Ulva sp., Streptococcus iniae, respon imun GIFT tilapia is one of type tilapia which have high economic value and important commodities in world freshwater fish business. Streptococcosis disease is reported generating a lot of losses in tilapia fish farming system. The cause of that disease is bacterium Streptococcus iniae. Disease control efforts are carried out usually by using drug, but it has negative impact to fish if used continuously, so another approach was held to see the ability of a natural ingredient improving tilapia’s body resistance to disease Streptococcosis using seaweed Ulva sp. The aims of this research were to study the effect of Ulva sp. as fish feed supplements with different concentrations and to know the best concentration of Ulva sp. to control of S. iniae. The research was conducted from May to June 2014, in Laboratory of Fisheries Culture Faculty of Agriculture University of Lampung. The model used was Completely Randomize Design (CRD) with addition Ulva sp. treatments (0%/kg of feed; 4%/kg of feed; 8%/kg of feed; 12%/kg of feed; 16%/kg feed) and 3 replications. The results showed that the addition of Ulva sp. in feed significantly affected to increase immune response of tilapia. The best doses of supplementation of Ulva sp. was the addition of 4% Ulva sp. which effective as immunostimulant that has been seen from highest total leukocyte, lymphocyte percentage and phagocytic activity.
