ABSTRAK Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan studi adsorpsi ion Ca(II), Cu(II), dan Cd(II) oleh biomassa alga Porphyridum sp. Identifikasi gugus fungsi pada biomassa Porphyridium sp dilakukan dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer inframerah (IR). Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan bahwa biomassa Porphyridium sp mengandung gugus –OH, C=O, N-H, dan S=O. Kajian adsorpsi ion Ca(II), Cu(II), dan Cd(II) oleh biomassa Porphyridium sp meliputi penentuan dosis biomassa alga, pH, waktu, dan konsentrasi ion logam menunjukkan bahwa adsorpsi ion Ca(II), Cu(II),dan Cd(II) oleh biomassa Porphyridium sp optimum pada dosis biomassa alga 0,1 g, pH 4, dan waktu pengadukkan 30 menit. Proses adsorpsi ion Ca(II), Cu(II), dan Cd(II) oleh biomassa Porphyridium sp dilakukan dengan metode batch dan kadar logam dianalisis dengan spektrofotometer serapan atom (SSA). Adsorpsi ion Ca(II), Cu(II),dan Cd(II) oleh biomassa Porphyridium sp mengikuti persamaan kinetika pseudo orde dua dengan konstanta laju masing-masing sebesar 45,48; 157,79; 167,98 g mmol-1 menit-1 serta pola adsorpsinya cenderung mengikuti pola adsorpsi isoterm Langmuir dengan kapasitas adsorpsi masing-masing ion logam sebesar 28,63; 37,07; 76,92 mg g-1. Energi adsorpsi masing-masing ion Ca(II), Cu(II), dan Cd(II) oleh biomassa alga Porphyridium sp sebesar 8,14; 14,46; 20,89 kJ mol-1. ABSTRACT The study of adsorption metal ions Ca(II), Cu(II), and Cd(II) by red algae biomass Porphyridium sp it has been performed. Infrared spectrophotometry (IR) was used to identificate the biomass functional group of Porphyridium sp. The results showed that Porphyridium sp biomass contains –OH, C=O, N-H, and S=O. Adsorption study of Ca(II), Cu(II), and Cd(II) metal ions included determination of biomass algae dosage, pH, stired time, and concentration of metal ions showing that adsorption of Ca(II),Cu(II), and Cd(II) ions is optimum at 0.1 g biomass dosage, pH 4, and 30 minute stired time. The adsorption process of Ca(II), Cu(II), and Cd(II) ions by Porphyridium sp biomass was done by using batch method, and metal ion concentration was analyzed by atomic absoprtion spectrophotometry (AAS). Adsorption of Ca(II), Cu(II), and Cd(II) ions by Porphyridium sp biomass follows pseudo second-order with rate constant for each metal ion is 45.48, 157.79, and 167.98 g mmol-1 minute-1 and the adsorption models tend to follow Langmuir isoterm adsorption with adsorption capacity for each metal is 28.63, 37.07, and 76.92 mg g-1. Adsorption energy of each Ca(II), Cu(II), and Cd(II) metal ions by Porphyridium sp algae biomass is 8.14, 14.46, and 20.89 kJ mol-1.
