Base sector is an economic activity that serves the markets in its own areas as well as the market in the region, and the non base sector is an economic activity that only serves to serve the market in its own areas, it is a non base research base aiming to see what economic sector has become the base of the Metro city and how the base of the base of the Metro research program has been affected this research USES secondary data obtained from BPS with a 2012-2016 research period. This study USES LQ data and grow and the growth of the base of analytics is found that from the 17 economic sectors of the Metro city, there are nine potential economic sectors in spurring the growth of the base of the base in Metro city enough to develop. These economic sectors are the trade sectors, the procurement, a sector of the water supply, sector of the real estate financial sector, the administration of the education of education, health and services societal issues, the role of wetlands in ensuring the security of water supply is also a matter of societal choice. Key Words : Growth Base Sector, Growth PDRB and Location Quotient . Sektor basis adalah kegiatan ekonomi yang melayani pasar di daerah sendiri maupun pasar di daerah tersebut (sektor basis), sedangkan sektor non basis adalah kegiatan ekonomi yang hanya melayani pasar di daerah itu sendiri ( non basis). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat sektor ekonomi apa yang menjadi sektor basis di Kota Metro dan bagaimana perkembangan sektor basis di Kota Metro. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) dengan periode penelitian yaitu 2012-2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan data Location Quotient dan pertumbuhan sektor basis . Dari hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa dari 17 sektor ekonomi di Kota Metro, terdapat 9 sektor ekonomi yang potensial dalam memacu pertumbuhan sektor basis di Kota Metro yang cukup untuk dikembangkan. Sektor-sektor ekonomi tersebut adalah sektor perdagangan, sektor pengadaan air, sektor informasi, sektor jasa keuangan, sektor real estate, sektor administrasi pemerintahan, sektor jasa pendidikan, sektor jasa kesehatan, dan sektor jasa lainnya. Kata Kunci : Pertumbuhan Sektor Basis, Pertumbuhan PDRB dan Location Quotient.
