Abstrak

Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan sintesis ZSM-5 (Zeolite Secony Mobile-5) pori hirarki dari silika abu ampas tebu (sugarcane bagasse ash) menggunakan metode Solid State Conversion (SSC). Ekstraksi silika dari abu ampas tebu dilakukan dengan metode alkali (NaOH), silika hasil ekstraksi selanjutnya digunakan sebagai sumber silika dalam mensintesis ZSM-5. Hasil karakterisasi X-Ray Fluorosence (XRF) menunjukkan bahwa silika abu ampas tebu memiliki persentase silika sebesar 77,073% dan persentase Al2O3 sebesar 17,634%, dan hasil analisis Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) menunjukkan adanya gugus Si-O-Si dan Si-OH, serta hasil X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) menunjukkan silika abu ampas tebu bersifat amorf. Sintesis ZSM-5 dari silika abu ampas tebu dilakukan dengan variasi suhu, waktu dan konsentrasi TPABr. Sebagai pembanding, dilakukan sintesis ZSM-5 dari silika komersial yaitu LUDOX. Hasil karakterisasi XRD menunjukkan bahwa ZSM-5 berhasil disintesis dari silika abu ampas tebu yang ditunjukkan dengan munculnya puncak khas ZSM-5 pada 2θ = 7, 8, 23, dan 24° dengan tingkat kristalinitas yang baik diperoleh pada suhu 170 °C selama 48 jam dengan komposisi molar TPABr 0,30. Hasil ini mirip dengan ZSM-5 hasil sintesis dari silika komersial. Berdasarkan hasil SEM menunjukkan bahwa morfologi kristal ZSM-5 berbentuk segi enam sedikit bulat yang relatif seragam. Hasil analisis BET surface area ZSM-5 dari silika abu amps tebu menunjukkan pola isotherm tipe IV yang merupakan isotherm adsorpsi padatan mesopori dengan ukuran pori rata-rata 6,57 nm. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada penelitian ini berhasil mensintesis ZSM-5 pori hirarki dari silika abu ampas tebu. SYNTHESIS OF ZSM-5 (Zeolite Secony Mobile-5) HIERARCHICALLY POROUS FROM SUGARCANE BAGASSE ASH SILICA USING SOLID STATE CONVERSION METHOD It has been carried out the research of the synthesize ZSM-5 (Zeolite Secony Mobile-5) Hierarchically porous from Sugarcane Bagasse Ash (SCBA) silica using solid state conversion method (SSC). Extraction of the silica from SCBA was carried out by the alkali method (NaOH), The extracted silica is then used as a source of silica in synthesizing ZSM-5. The results of X-Ray Fluorosence (XRF) characterization showed that bagasse ash silica has a silica percentage of 77,073% and the percentage of Al2O3 is 17,634%, the characterization of Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) showed the presence of Si-O-Si and Si-OH group, and and the characterization of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) showed that silica from Sugarcane Bagasse Ash are amorphous phase. The synthesis of ZSM-5 from sugarcane bagasse ash silica was carried out with variations in temperature, time and concentration of TPABr. For comparison, the synthesis of ZSM-5 from commercial silica (LUDOX) was carried out. The results of characterization XRD showed that ZSM-5 was successfully synthesized from SCBA silica as shown in the presence of peak that appeared about 2θ = 7, 8, 23, and 24° with a good degree of crystallinity was obtained at temperature of 170°C for 96 hours with a molar composition of TPABr 0,30. This result is similar to the ZSM-5 synthesized from commercial silica. Based on the results of SEM characterization showed that the ZSM-5 crystal morphology is hexagon-shaped that was relatively uniform. The results of BET surface area characterization showed that pattern of isotherm type IV which is an isotherm of adsorption of mesoporous solids with an average pore size of 6,57 nm. So it can be concluded that the ZSM-5 Hierarchically porous from SCBA silica was successfully synthesized.
