Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi produksi padi sawah, menganalisis efisiensi produksi padi sawah, dan menganalisis pendapatan usahatani padi sawah di Kecamatan Balige, Kabupaten Toba Samosir. Penelitian ini ditentukan secara purposive dengan pertimbangan daerah penelitian merupakan daerah sentra produksi padi sawah. Penelitian menggunakan metode survey dan data diambil pada April-Mei 2019. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 64 petani padi sawah dan dipilih menggunakan metode Simple Random Sampling. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi produksi dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis fungsi produksi Cobb-Douglas, efisiensi produksi dianalisis dengan uji skala usaha return to scale, dan tingkat pendapatan dianalisis dengan metode analisis pendapatan R/C Ratio. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi usahatani padi sawah adalah luas lahan, benih, pupuk NPK, pupuk organik, pestisida, dan tenaga kerja. Usahatani padi sawah di Kecamatan Balige belum efisien dan termasuk dalam skala usaha increasing return to scale. Usahatani padi sawah merupakan usaha yang menguntungkan dengan pendapatan atas biaya tunai sebesar Rp 28.208.782,95 denga R/C Ratio 6,69, dan pendapatan atas biaya total sebesar Rp 24.636.334,99 dengan R/C Ratio 3,89. Kata kunci : padi sawah, produksi, efisiensi, pendapatan This study aims to analyze factors that influencing production of rice paddy, analyze efficiency of rice paddy production, and analyze income of rice paddy farming in Balige District, Toba Samosir Regency. The research site was determined purposively considering that it is the center of rice production in Toba Samosir Regency. This research use survey methods and data was taken from April to May 2019. The research sample consisted of 64 rice paddy farmers and selected using Simple Random Sampling. Factors that affecting production were analyzed using the Cobb-Douglas production function, while production efficiency was analyzed using return to scale test, and income was analyzed income to cost analysis. The study shows that factors affecting rice farming are land area, seeds, NPK fertilizer, organic fertilizer, pesticides, and labor. Rice paddy farming in Balige District was not efficient because it is in increasing return to scale. Rice paddy farming was profitable with current income amounted to Rp28,208,782.95 and R / C ratio at 6.69. Income before total costs is in amounted to Rp 24,636,334.99 and R / C ratio at 3.89.
