Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
ABSTRAK Antiseptik merupakan senyawa kimia yang digunakan dalam dunia medis untuk membunuh mikroorganisme pada jaringan yang hidup. Namun, penyimpanan yang kurang baik dapat menyebabkan penurunan efektivitas antiseptik tersebut sehingga terjadi penurunan kemampuan antiseptik dalam membunuh atau menghambat pertumbuhan mikroorganisme. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas antiseptik yang dipergunakan pada Unit Perinatologi Rumah Sakit Umum Abdul Moeloek. Metode penelitian merupakan eksperimental laboratorik. Sampel diambil dari Unit Perinatologi Rumah Sakit Umum Abdul Moeloek selama bulan Desember 2012-Januari 2013. Uji efektivitas menggunakan metode uji koefisien fenol dengan menggunakan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan povidon iodin, antiseptik merk “X”, alkohol jerigen, alkohol botol, dan alkohol yang dituangkan pada wadah berisi kapas yang digunakan memiliki efektivitas yang lebih baik dibandingkan fenol dalam membunuh Staphylococcus aureus. Hal ini dilihat dengan nilai koefisien fenol 1,875 pada antiseptik merk “X” (S1, S3, S4, S5, S6), alkohol botol pada lantai 1, dan alkohol pada wadah di lantai 1. Pada antiseptik merk “X” (S2), alkohol jirigen, alkohol botol pada lantai 2, alkohol pada wadah kapas di lantai 2, dan povidon iodin tidak dapat dilakukan penghitungan dikarenakan sudah membunuh Staphylococcus aureus pada menit ke 5 yang berarti lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan fenol. Kata kunci : Antiseptik, Uji koefisien fenol ABSTRACT Antiseptic is a chemical compound used in the medical to kill microorganism on living tissue. However, poor storage may cause reduced effectiveness of antiseptic that can decrease the ability of antiseptic in killing microorganism.The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of antiseptics used on Perinatology Unit General at Hospital Abdul Moeloek.The research method is an experimental laboratory. Samples were taken from the Perinatology Unit of General Hospital Abdul Moeloek during December 2012-January 2013. The effectiveness test using phenol coefficient test method using Staphylococcus aureus.The results showed povidone iodine, antiseptic “X”, jerrycan alcohol, alcohol bottles, and alcohol poured on the container contain cotton has better effectiveness than phenol in killing Staphylococcus aureus. This is seen by the phenol coefficient 1,875 on antiseptic brand “X” (S1, S3, S4, S5, S6), alcohol bottles on the first floor, and alcohol in the container on the first floor. Antiseptic ”X” (S2), jerrycan alcohol, alcohol bottles on the second floor, the alcohol in the container of cotton on the second floor, and povidone iodine can’t be calculated because already killed Staphylococcus aureus in 5 minutes, which means more effective than phenol.
