Abstrak

Paduan aluminium 6061-T6 banyak diaplikasikan pada komponen otomotif dan pesawat terbang, yang umumnya selama bahan diaplikasikan sering mengalami deformasi plastis dan bahan mengalami kegagalan fatik dalam beberapa siklus pembebanan. Pengujian tarik (ASTM E8) fatik siklus rendah (ASTM E606) pada kondisi temperatur ruang dan pada kondisi temperatur 100°C, 200°C dan 300°C dengan amplitudo 0.004mm/mm-0.006mm/mm dan laju regangan konstan 0.005/s dilakukan. Data hasil pengujian tarik dan fatik pada setiap kondisi temperatur berbeda diperoleh dan dibandingkan untuk mengamati respon ketergantungan sifat mekanik dan fatik terhadap temperatur. Data-data hasil pengujian fatik dievaluasi menggunakan pendekatan Coffin-Manson-Basquin, yang dapat digunakan untuk memprediksi umur fatik paduan dalam kondisi pembebanan elastis (metode Basquin) dan plastis (metode Coffin-Mason) dalm kondisi temperatur yang bervariasi. Perilaku pelunakan dan pengerasan regangan yang dialami bahan dipelajari melalui kurva tegangan-jumlah siklus pada amplitudo regangan yang diamati. Pengamatan mikrostruktur melalui mikroskop optik menunjukkan bahwa perilaku paduan dapat dikaitkan dengan penuaan regangan dinamik (dynamic strain aging/DSA) yang diperngaruhi langsung oleh amplitudo dan temperatur pengujian. Kata kunci: Al 6061-T6, fatik siklus rendah, Coffin-Manson-Baquin, pelunakan dan pengerasan, penuaan regangan dinamik An aluminum 6061-T6 alloy is widely applied for an automotive and aircraft components, where the components of material generally suffers high loading cycles and leads to fatigue failure in few cycles. Tension tests according ASTM E8 were performed under displacement control at speed rate of 0.2 mm/mm and low cycle fatigue tests according to ASTM E606 were performed under strain control with various strain amplitude of 0.004-0.006 mm/mm at a constant strain rate of 0.005/s. Both testing were conditioned in room temperature and various temperature of 100°C, 200°C and 300°C. Data from tensile and fatigue test results at each different temperature are obtained and compared to investigate the alloy’s response to the deterioration of mechanical properties and fatigue properties with the temperatures. The fatigue test data were evaluated using the Coffin-Manson- Basquin approach for predicting the fatigue life of alloy under the elastic loading region (Basquin method) and the plastic loading region (Coffin-Manson method) in varying temperatures. Cyclic softening and hardening behavior occurred by the alloy were studied through a stress response with a number of cycles on the strain amplitude observed. Microstructures observation by optical microscope shows that the behavior of alloys can be attributed to dynamic strain aging (DSA) effect, which is directly affected by strain amplitude and testing temperature. .
