Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur, gugus fungsi, dan sifat fisis yaitu kadar air dan pengembangan tebal paduan silika sekam padi dan aspal. Silika sekam padi diperoleh dari hasil ekstraksi alkalis menggunakan larutan NaOH 1,5 % b/v dan HNO3 10 % v/v. Paduan silika sekam padi dan aspal dibuat dengan mencampurkan aspal dan silika sekam padi dengan perbandingan massa 1:0,4; 1:0,5; dan 1:0,6 serta dilakukan pemanasan pada suhu 150 oC selama 3 jam. Hasil analisis XRD semua sampel menunjukkan struktur yang sama, yaitu amorf. Penambahan aspal mengakibatkan teridentifikasi adanya karbon (C60) pada 2θ = 20o dan terjadi pergeseran 2θ intensitas tertinggi silika dari 22 menjadi 21o . Hasil analisis FTIR menunjukkan bahwa seiring dengan penambahan aspal menyebabkan nilai persen transmitansi terkait gugus fungsi silika, yaitu Si-OH, O-H, Si-O-Si, dan Si-O cenderung meningkat serta menyebabkan hadirnya gugus fungsi baru C-H. Penambahan aspal juga menyebabkan nilai kadar air dan pengembangan tebal semakin menurun. Kata kunci: aspal, gugus fungsi, sifat fisis, silika sekam padi, struktur. This study aims to determine the structure, functional groups, and physical properties of the water content and swelling thickness of rice husk silica and asphalt alloys. Rice husk silica was obtained from the alkaline extraction using NaOH 1,5% w/v solution and HNO3 10 % v/v. Alloys of rice husk silica and asphalt were made by mixing asphalt and rice husk silica with a mass ratio of 1:0,4; 1:0,5; and 1:0,6 and heated at 150 oC for 3 hours. The XRD analysis results of all samples show the same structure, namely amorphous. The addition of asphalt results in the identification of carbon (C60) at 2θ = 20o and a shift of 2θ the highest intensity of silica from 22 to 21o . FTIR analysis results show that along with the addition of asphalt causes the value of percent transmittance associated with silica functional groups, namely Si-OH, O-H, Si-O-Si, and Si-O tends to increase and causes the presence of new C-H functional groups. The addition of asphalt also causes the decreasing of water content and swelling thickness. Keywords: asphalt, functional groups, physical properties, silica rice husk, structure.
