Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

This study aimed to determine the factors that cause school dropouts at the junior high school level in KotagajahSub-district, Central Lampung Region. The research method used was descriptive method and data collection techniques were in the form of questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The population of this study was 70 children dropping out of school at the junior high school level. The sample of this study was 30 school dropouts at the junior high school level along with 30 dropout parents at the junior high school level. The sampling technique used was the area sampling in the largest population area, namely Kotagajah Village and East Kotagajah Village. The data measurement technique used was a quantitative percentage technique. The results of the study showed that: The low level of parents’ income was a factor that caused school dropouts at junior high school level. The large number of children in the family was another factor in school dropouts at the junior high school level. The low level of parents’ education becamethe other factor in school dropouts at the junior high school level. Finally, the distance between the school dropouts’ houses and the school did not becomethe causative factor because the distance was not too far away fromthem who have dropped out of school at the junior high school level in KotagajahSub-district, Central Lampung Region. Keywords: dropouts, causative factors, basic education. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab anak putus sekolah pada tingkat SMP di Kecamatan Kotagajah Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dan teknik pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Populasi penelitian ini ialah 70 anak putus sekolah pada tingkat SMP. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 30 anak putus sekolah pada tingkat SMP beserta orang tua anak putus sekolah pada tingkat SMP yang berjumlah 30 jiwa. Teknik sampel yang digunakan adalah area samplingpada daerah populasi terbanyak yaitu Desa Kotagajah dan Desa Kotagajah Timur. Teknik pengukuran data yang digunakan adalah teknik kuantitatif persentase. Hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa : Tingkat pendapatan orang tua anak putus sekolah rendah merupakan faktor penyebab anak putus sekolah pada tingkat SMP. Jumlah anak dalam keluarga anak putus sekolah yang banyak merupakan faktor penyebab anak putus sekolah pada tingkat SMP. Tingkat pendidikan orang tua anak putus sekolah yang rendah merupakan faktor penyebab anak putus sekolah pada tingkat SMP. Jarak tempat tinggal anak putus sekolah dengan sekolah tidak dalam faktor penyebab karena jarak yang ditempuh tidak terlalu jauh oleh anak yang mengalami putus sekolah pada tingkat SMP di Kecamatan Kotagajah Kabupaten Lampung Tengah.
