Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji sebaran dan jumlah kebutuhan guru IPS pada SMP di Kecamatan Kotaagung Barat, Kecamatan Kotaagung dan Kecamatan Kotaagung Timur Kabupaten Tanggamus tahun 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif.Populasi terdiri dari 22 Guru IPS SMP.Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, formulir kuesioner, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan rumus kebutuhan guru yang digunakan untuk menghitung jumlah kebutuhan Guru IPS SMP, yang telah dibakukan oleh kementrian pendidikan dan kebudayaan, data yang telah diperoleh kemudian diolah dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan peta, yang selanjutnya diberi penjelasan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: (1) jumlah Guru IPS SMP di lokasi penelitian adalah 22 guru, sedangkan guru IPS yang dibutuhkan adalah 18 guru, sehingga terdapat kelebihan 4 guru IPS (2) kondisi kesesuaian latar belakang pendidikan iii Guru IPS dengan mata pelajaran yang diajarkan pada tiap-tiap SMP belum seluruhnya sesuai, karena dari 22 guru yang mengajar IPS masih terdapat 8 Guru IPS dengan latar belakang pendidikan yang tidak sesuai (3) sebaran kebutuhan guru IPS belum proporsional, masih terdapat kekurangan Guru IPS sebanyak 3 orang guru, SMP yang membutuhkan Guru IPS yaitu SMPN 01 Kotaagung Barat, SMP IT Langit Bumi dan SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kotaagung. Kata kunci: guru ips, kebutuhan, kesesuaian, sebaran guru ips The aims of this research are to assess the spread and number of social sciences teachers need at Junior High School in West Kotaagung Sub-district, Kotaagung Sub-district,East Kotaagung Sub-district of Tanggamus Regency 2019. This research was conducted by using descriptive method. The population consists of 22 social sciences teachers atJunior High School. Data was collected by observation, interviews, questionnaire, and documentation. Data analysis was done by using the formula of teacher need that used to calculate the number of social sciences teachers need at Junior High School by the Ministry of Education and Culture, the data that has been obtained, then processed and presented in the form of tables and maps, here in after given descriptive explanation. The results of this research show: (1) the number of social sciences teachers at Junior High School in research sites were 22 teachers, while the social sciences teachers needed were 18 teachers, so there were an excess of 4 social sciences teachers (2) the condition of suitability of social sciences teacherseducational background to the subject taught at each Junior High School is not yet entirely suitable, because of the 22 teachers who teach social sciences, there are still 8 social sciences teachers with inappropriate educational backgrounds (3) the distribution of the needs of social sciences teachers have not been proportional, there are still a shortage of 3 social sciences teachers, the Junior High Schools that requiring social sciences teachers namely SMPN 01 in West Kotaagung Subdistrict, SMP IT Langit Bumi in West Kotaagung Sub-district and SMP Muhammadiyah 1 in Kotaagung Sub-district.
