Latar belakang: Angka Kematian Ibu (AKI) masih cukup tinggi. Sepersepuluh dari semua kematian ibu dikaitkan dengan gangguan hipertensi pada kehamilan dan seperempat dikaitkan dengan komplikasi tersebut. Sebanyak 7.600 wanita hamil meninggal setiap tahun akibat preeklampsia dan gangguan hipertensi terkait. Salah satu faktor terjadinya preeklampsia adalah diabetes melitus. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan diabetes melitus dengan kejadian preeklampsia di RSUD DR. H. Abdul Moeloek Provinsi Lampung. Metode: Metode analitik dengan pendekatan case control dengan teknik pengambilan sampel secara random sampling. Instrument penelitian ini adalah rekam medis pasien post partum di RSUD DR. H. Abdul Moeloek Provinsi Lampung yang berjumlah 32 rekam medis. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah kejadian preeklampsia sebanyak 49,2% dan jumlah preeklampsia dengan diabetes melitus sebanyak 37,5%. Hasil analisis bivariat chi square menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang bermakna (pvalue <0,05) antara diabetes melitus dengan kejadian preeklampsia di RSUD DR. H. Abdul Moeloek Provinsi Lampung (95% CI, p = 0,018). Simpulan: Terdapat hubungan antara diabetes melitus dengan kejadian preeklampsia di RSUD DR. H. Abdul Moeloek Provinsi Lampung. Kata Kunci: Diabetes Melitus, Kematian Ibu, Preeklampsia Background: The maternal mortality rate is still high. One per ten of all maternal mortality are associated with hypertensive disorders in pregnancy and a quarter are associated with these complications. As many as 7600 pregnant women die in every year due to preeclampsia and related hypertension disorders. One of the factors in the occurrence of preeclampsia is diabetes mellitus. Objective: To determine the relationship between diabetes mellitus with the incidence of preeclampsia in RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Lampung. Method: This research was using case control approach with random sampling method. The instrument of this study are 64 medical record of post partum patient in RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Lampung. Result: The results show the number of preeclampsia cases is 49,2% and the number of preeclampsia with diabetes mellitus is 37,5%. The result of chi square bivariate analysis shows a significant correlation (p-value <0,05) between diabetes mellitus with the incidence of preeclampsia in RSUD DR. H. Abdul Moeloek Lampung (95% CI, p = 0,018). Conclusion: There is a significant relation between diabetes mellitus with the incidence of preeclampsia in RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Lampung.
