Abstract

The problem in this study was the maturity the student’s career choices. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the parenting pattern with the student’s career choices. The research method was product moment analysis. The population is 219 students and the research sample as many as 44 students dertermined by simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used parenting pattern questionnaire and students career questionnare. The results showed there was a correlation between the parenting pattern with the student’s career choices with the correlation value rxy 0.402 > rtabel 0.297 at the level of significant 0.05 then Ho rejected and Ha accepted. The conclusion of this research is there was a positive and significant correlation between the parenting pattern with the student career choices in SMA Negeri 1 Sukohajo academic year 2018/2019, it means the greater the parenting pattern is the higher maturity student career choices, become Keywords: giudance counseling, parenting pattern, student career choices. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya kurangnya kematangan pilihan karir siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pola asuh orang tua dengan pemilihan karir siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis product moment. Populasi sebanyak 219 siswa dengan sampel berjumlah 44 siswa, diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket pola asuh orangtua dan angket pemilihan karir siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada hubungan antara pola asuh orangtua dengan pemilihan karir siswa dengan nilai korelasi rxy hitung=0,402 > rtabel=0,297 pada taraf signifikan 0,05 maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara motivasi belajar dengan prestasi belajar siswa pada siswa kelas XII di SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2018/2019, artinya semakin tinggi pola asuh orangtua maka semakin matang pemilihan karir siswa.
