Regional head elections for Tanggamus Regency in 2018 were won by candidates with family backgrounds involved in legal cases. The purpose of this study was to analyze the political orientation of the Gisting Subdistrict community towards prospective Tanggamus regents in the regional elections in 2018. This research uses quantitative descriptive research, by taking a sample of people in Gisting Subdistrict that was taken 100 people randomly selected using the formula t-yamane. Data obtained through questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the political orientation of the Gisting Subdistrict community towards the Tanggamus regent candidates in the 2018 regional head election on cognitive aspects, namely by the percentage of very know about nomination, socialization, background and leadership abilities of Dewi Handajani by 36%. The percentage of know is 54%, and the percentage of not knowing is 10% with an average score of cognitive aspects of 2.26. In the affective aspect with a very happy percentage of vision and mission, nomination, and political candidates namely Dewi Handajani by 38%, happy percentage of 50%, and unhappy percentage of 12% with an average score of affective aspects of 2.26. And on the evaluative aspect the percentage was very supportive of the program, and the ability to implement the program by Dewi Handajani was 26%, the percentage of support was 63%, and the percentage did not support 11% with an average score of evaluative aspects of 2.15. Keywords: Political Orientation, Community, Regional Head Election Pemilihan kepala daerah Kabupaten Tanggamus tahun 2018 dimenangkan oleh calon yang memiliki latar belakang keluarga tersangkut kasus hukum. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis orientasi politik masyarakat Kecamatan Gisting terhadap calon bupati Tanggamus pada pemilihan kepala daerah tahun 2018. Penelitian ini menggunakan tipe penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan mengambil sampel masyarakat di Kecamatan Gisting yang berjumlah 100 orang yang dipilih secara random menggunakan rumus t-yamane. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa orientasi politik masyarakat Kecamatan Gisting terhadap calon bupati Tanggamus pada pemilihan kepala daerah tahun 2018 pada aspek kognitif yaitu dengan persentase sangat tahu terhadap pencalonan, sosialisasi, latar belakang dan kemampuan kepemimpinan Dewi Handajani sebesar 36%, persentase tahu sebesar 54%, serta persentase tidak tahu sebesar 10% dengan skor rata-rata dari aspek kognitif sebesar 2,26. Pada aspek afektif dengan persentase sangat senang terhadap visi dan misi, pencalonan, serta kandidat politik yaitu Dewi Handajani sebesar 38%, persentase senang sebesar 50%, serta persentase tidak senang sebesar 12% dengan skor rata-rata dari aspek afektif sebesar 2,26. Dan pada aspek evaluatif persentase sangat mendukung terhadap program, dan kemampuan melaksanakan program oleh Dewi Handajani sebesar 26%, persentase mendukung sebesar 63%, serta persentase tidak mendukung sebesar 11% dengan skor rata-rata dari aspek evaluatif sebesar 2,15.
