Abstract

The objectives of research were to describe and to explain effort of the school in impelmenting the democracy culture and formation of students character. This research was done through qualitative descriptive. Observation, interview, documentation were used to collect the data. The resources of the data: headmaster, teacher, students, and administrative staff. The focus of this research was the descriptive study of democracy culture and formation of character at the fifth frade students pf SD Al-Kautsar. The result of the indicate that the democracy culture was carried out and the character was formated through character education in SD Al-Kautsar. Keywords : culture of democracy, formation of character, students Penelitian bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan upaya sekolah dalam pelaksanaan budaya demokrasi dan pembentukan karakter peserta didik. Metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sumber data: kepala sekolah, pendidik, peserta didik dan staff tata usaha. Fokus dalam penelitian ini ialah studi deskriptif budaya demokrasi dan pembentukan karakter peserta didik kelas V SD Al-Kautsar. Hasil penelitian yang di peroleh yaitu sudah terlaksananya budaya demokrasi dan sudah terbentuknya karakter melalui pendidikan karakter di SD Al-Kautsar. Kata Kunci : budaya demokrasi, pembentukan karakter, peserta didik
