Background: Body Mass Index was calculated as body weight (kg) divided by body height squared (m2). Diabetes mellitus was a collection of symptoms due to an increase in blood glucose levels due to a progressive decrease in insulin secretion on the background of insulin resistance. Early diagnosis of glucose disorders in the blood was carried out by the OGTT examination. This study aims to determine the correlation between body mass index and glucose levels in the oral glucose tolerance test in first-degree relative with type 2 diabetes mellitus patients, knowing the mean value of OGTT results in first-degree relative with type 2 diabetes mellitus patients and the average BMI value in first-degree relative with type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Method: This study was a type of comparative analysis research using a cross- sectional design. Sampling using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was performed using an alternative Chi-Square test, namely the Mann-Whitney test. Results: The study was conducted on 46 samples, and it was found that the most respondents were female 24 (52,2%), and the largest age group were 30-39 years 17 (37%). The number of respondents with a BMI ≥ of 25 (obesity I) was 17 respondents (37%), respondents with OGTT results from 140-199 (TGT) were 17 respondents (37%). There was a correlation between body mass index and glucose levels in the oral glucose tolerance test in first-degree relative with type 2 diabetes mellitus patients (p-value = 0.001). Conclusions: There was a correlation between BMI and glucose levels in the oral glucose tolerance test in first-degree relative with type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. The mean OGTT value in all samples was 126,57 mg/dL. The average BMI in all samples was 25,776 kg/m2. Keywords: body mass index (bmi), diabetes mellitus, oral glucose tolerance test (ogtt) Latar Belakang: Indeks Massa Tubuh dihitung sebagai berat badan (kg) dibagi tinggi badan dikuadratkan (m2 ). Diabetes melitus merupakan kumpulan gejala karena adanya peningkatan kadar gukosa darah akibat penurunan sekresi insulin yang progresif dilatar belakangi oleh resistensi insulin. Diagnosis awal gangguan glukosa dalam darah dilakukan pemeriksaan TTGO. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan indeks massa tubuh dengan kadar glukosa tes toleransi glukosa oral pada keturunan I penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2, mengetahui nilai rata-rata hasil TTGO pada keturunan I penderita DM tipe 2, dan nilai rata-rata IMT pada keturunan I penderita DM tipe 2. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian analisis komparatif dengan menggunakan desain cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan alternatif uji Chi-Square yaitu Uji Mann Whitney. Hasil Penelitian: Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 46 sampel yang kemudian didapatkan bahwa responden terbanyak berjenis kelamin perempuan 24 (52,2%), dan kelompok usia terbanyak 30-39 tahun 17 (37%). Jumlah responden dengan IMT ≥25 (obesitas I) sebanyak 17 responden (37%), responden dengan hasil TTGO 140-199 (TGT) sebanyak 17 responden (37%). Terdarapat hubungan antara indeks massa tubuh dengan kadar glukosa tes toleransi glukosa oral pada keturunan I penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2 (p-value = 0,001). Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan antara IMT dengan kadar glukosa tes toleransi glukosa oral pada keturunan I penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2. Rerata nilai TTGO pada seluruh sampel adalah 126,57 mg/dL. Rerata IMT pada seluruh sampel adalah 25,776 kg/m2 . Kata Kunci: diabetes melitus, indeks massa tubuh (imt), tes toleransi glukosa oral (ttgo)
