Abstrak

ABSTRAK POTENSI EMISI GAS RUMAH KACA DARI AIR LIMBAH INDUSTRI TAPIOKA RAKYAT (ITTARA) Oleh FEBILIAN ADIWINATA Proses pemanfaatan air limbah tapioka sebagai bahan baku biogas merupakan salah satu cara alternatif untuk mengurangi emisi gas rumah kaca. Sistem pengelolaan air limbah dengan metode CIGAR (Covered In Ground Anaerobic Reactor) menghasilkan gas metana (CH4), gas tersebut memberikan kontribusi cukup besar terhadap pemanasan global. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi neraca air produksi ITTARA yang berpengaruh terhadap pembentukan gas metana dan menghitung emisi gas rumah kaca dari air limbah ITTARA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode survei dan pengukuran langsung di ITTARA PD. Semangat Jaya. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan mengumpulkan data kuantitas dan kualitas air limbah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata air limbah sebesar 59,66 m3/hari dengan kapasitas produksi 25,156 ton singkong/hari. Nilai CODt inlet bioreaktor 10.278 mg/L dan outlet bioreaktor sebesar 772 mg/L. Menghasilkan potensi biogas 367,62 m3/hari, potensi gas metana 198,51 m3/hari dan potensi emisi gas rumah kaca 2,97 ton CO2e/hari atau 0,12 ton CO2e/ton singkong. ABSTRACT POTENTION OF GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSION FROM SMALL SCALE TAPIOCA INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER By FEBILIAN ADIWINATA The process of utilization wastewater tapioca as raw materials for biogas is one of alternative ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Wastewater management system with CIGAR (Covered In Ground Anaerobic Reactor) methods producing methane (CH4), the gas gives a considerable contribution to global warming if release to the atmosphere. The purpose of this research is to evaluate wastewater production in small scale tapioca industry that affect to the formation of methane gas. The research was conducted in a small scale tapioca industry, named, PD. Semangat Jaya. Research carried out by collecting the wastewater quantity and quality data. The result showed that average of wastewater produced was about 59,66m3/day with production capacity 25,156 ton of cassava/day. The CODt inlet and outlet of biogas reactor were 10.278 mg/L and 772 mg/L, respectively. The potential of biogas production is about 367,62 m3/day or 198,51 m3/day of methane. Based on this data, the greenhouse gas emission potential is about 2,97 tons CO2e/day or 0.12 tons CO2e per ton of cassava. Keywords: ITTARA, Greenhouse gas emission, Wastewater.
