Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Indonesia has a high atmospheric temperature average, that is about 27.3oC. The optimum temperature required by lettuce is between 15-25oC. Controlling nutrient water temperarature is more relevant than controlling atmospheric temperature to get better growth of lecttuce. This research aimed to investigate the performances of wick, floating, and dry hydrophonics system grown in three different nutrient temperatures which were controlled by the different containers using mechanic cooler, styrofoam insulated box, and bucket. The mechanic cooler and styrofoam box were expacted to be able to maintain the nutrient temperature low and favorable for the lettuce, regarding that the nutrient temperature is affected by the air temperature. While the bucket was used as control. The three nutrient containers were implemented to the three simplest hydroponic systems: wick, floating, and dry system. The experiment used randomized complete block (RCB) design, using one factor of hydroponics system with three levels: wick, floating, and dry system, and three block of nutrient containers: mechanical cooler, styrofoam insulated box, and bucket. Each experimental unit used three plants. The observation included nutrient parameters (pH, EC, evapotranspiration, and temprature), plant growth paremeters (number of leaf, plant height, leaf widht, root length, and stem diameter), and after harvesting parameters (canopy area, fresh gross weight, dry gross weight, water content, ash contant, and total water consumption). The result of this research showed that nutrient container factor was significantly affected to all of plant growth parameters and after harvesting parameters. The use of mechanical cooler is the best group for all of the hydroponic systems since it has the lowest temprature.
