Abstrak

Background: Background: mosquito coil repellent contain active substances and toxic recidu while spray mosquito repellent is spread in aerosol form which is easily absorb by the body. This active substances could form free radical and affect sperm amount and motility. The aim of this study is to know the comparison between mosquito coil repellent exposure with spray mosquito repellent towards sperm amount and motility of albino rats ( rattus norvegicus) sprague dawley strain. Methods: This experimental study was conducted for 30 days with a sample of 30 rats which were divided into 3 groups, namely control (K) which was given standard food and drink, treatment group 1 (P1) which was exposed to mosquito coils per day, and group 1 (P1) exposed to mosquito coils/day. Treatment 2 (P2) was exposed to mosquito repellent spray at a dose of 5 mL/day. Results: The results showed that there were differences in the mean number and motility of sperm in male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) Sprague dawley strain exposed to mosquito coils and those exposed to spray mosquito coils with differences in the mean sperm count of 17,700 million/ml and motility of 14,200 (%). Conclusion: It can be concluded that there a significant difference between exposure of mosquito coils with mosquito repellent spray towards the motility and sperm count of white rat (Rattus norvegicus) Sprague dawley strain. Latar Belakang : Obat nyamuk bakar mengandung bahan aktif dan sisa pembakaran yang bersifat toksik sedangkan obat nyamuk spray berbentuk aerosol yang mudah diserap oleh tubuh. Bahan aktif ini dapat membentuk senyawa radikal bebas dan berpengaruh terhadap jumlah dan motilitas sperma. Tujuan pada penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbandingan antara paparan obat nyamuk bakar dengan obat nyamuk spray terhadap motilitas dan jumlah sperma tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur Sprague dawley. Metode : Penelitian eksperimental ini dilakukan selama 30 hari dengan sampel 30 ekor tikus yang dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok, yaitu kontrol (K) yang diberi pakan dan minum standar, kelompok perlakuan 1 (P1) yang diberi paparan obat nyamuk bakar 1 kumparan/hari, kelompok perlakuan 2 (P2) yang diberi paparan obat nyamuk spray dosis 5 mL/hari. Hasil : Terdapat perbedaan rerata jumlah dan motilitas sperma tikus putih jantan (Rattus norvegicus) galur Sprague dawley yang terpapar obat nyamuk bakar dan yang terpapar obat nyamuk spray dengan perbedaan rerata jumlah sperma 17.700 juta/ml dan motilitas 14.200 (%). Simpulan: Terdapat perbedaan bermakna antara paparan obat nyamuk bakar dengan obat nyamuk spray terhadap motilitas dan jumlah sperma tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur Sprague dawley. Kata Kunci: Jumlah Sperma, Motilitas Sperma, Obat Nyamuk Bakar, dan Obat Nyamuk Spray.
