Abstract
ii ABSTRAK PRAKTIK EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP KEPALA SEKOLAH (Studi Kasus di SMP Darma Bangsa Bandarlampung) Oleh USNUL UMI MIFTAHURROHMAH Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan praktik exemplary leadership kepala SMP Darma Bangsa Bandarlampung yang terdiri atas lima domain, yaitu model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act dan encourage the heart. Masing – masing domain memiliki komitmen dan contoh tindakan – tindakan yang dapat dilaksanakan oleh seorang pemimpin . Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumen. Hasil penelitian yang didapat menunjukkan bahwa domain yang paling sering dilaksanakan oleh kepala SMP Darma Bangsa Bandarlampung adalah enable others to act diikuti oleh challenge the process, dan encourage the heart. Domain yang perlu ditingkatkan praktiknya adalah model the way dan inspire a shared vision. Kata kunci: kepala sekolah, kepemimpinan, exemplary leadership iii ABSTRACT PRINCIPAL’S EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP PRACTICES (Case Study at SMP Darma Bangsa Bandarlampung) By USNUL UMI MIFTAHURROHMAH This study aims to describe exemplary leadership practice of SMP Darma Bangsa principal on his exemplary leadership practices that consist of five domains: model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act and encourage the heart. Each domain has its commitments and examples of action for a leader to carry out. This study uses a qualitative method. The research data were collected through interviews, observation and document studies. The results reveal that the domains often carried out by the principal of SMP Darma Bangsa Bandarlampung are enable others to act, challenge the process, and encourage the heart. The domains that need to be more practiced are model the way and inspire a shared vision. Keywords: principal, leadership, exemplary leadership
