ABSRACT FACTORS RELATED TO THE OUTCOME OF PATIENTS WITH CENTRAL NERVOUS INFECTIONS IN THE ALAMANDA INPATIENT WARD RSUD Dr. Hi. ABDUL MOELOEK LAMPUNG PROVINCE By Hans Pratama Assidiqy Background: Infection of the Central Nervous System (CNS) is a serious disease and can cause death and severe disability if not detected and treated properly. Meningitis became a specific cause of death in children under 5 years during 2000-2013. In the Alamanda Inpatient Ward, Dr. Hi. Abdul Moeloek, Lampung Province during 2020-2021 obtained as many as 50 cases of central nervous system infections. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the outcome of patients with central nervous system infections in the Alamanda Inpatient Ward, RSUD Dr. Hi. Abdul Moeloek, Lampung Province. Methods: This study used an observational analysis method with a cross sectional research design. The case population in this study were pediatric patients with a medical diagnosis of central nervous system infection in the Alamanda Inpatient Hospital Dr. Hi. Abdul Moeloek, Lampung Province, for the period January 2020 – May 2021, totaling 50 patients with a total sample of the population. The analysis carried out is univariate and bivariate with chi-square test. Results: The results of the univariate analysis showed 39 patients with central nervous system infections in the Alamanda Inpatient Ward, RSUD Dr. Hi. Abdul Moeloek Lampung Province mostly aged > 1 year as many as 79.6%, male gender, namely 51.3%, type of infection Meningitis or Encephalitis 66.7%, GPCS score not coma 79.5%, normal nutritional status 69.2%, length of hospitalization > 5 days 69.2% and the outcome of life is 82.1%. There is a relationship between age, gender, type of infection, nutritional status, length of hospitalization and GPCS (Glasgow pediatric coma scale) coma score with the outcome of patients with central nervous system infections in the Alamanda Inpatient Ward, RSUD Dr. Hi. Abdul Moeloek, Lampung Province. Conclusion: the factors related to the outcome of patients with central nervous system infections were age, gender, type of infection, nutritional status, length of hospitalization and GPCS score (Glasgow pediatric coma scale) coma.Keywords: Factors, Outcomes, Central Nervous System Infection
