Abstrak

Degradasi lahan merupakan masalah serius yang dapat mengakibatkan menurunnya kesuburan dan produktivitas suatu lahan. Penyebab utama terjadinya degradasi lahan adalah karena adanya peristiwa erosi. Erosi menyebabkan hilangnya lapisan atas tanah yang subur dan baik untuk pertumbuhan tanaman. Kegiatan pertanian khususnya pengolahan tanah diyakini merupakan penyebab terbesar terjadinya erosi tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh sistem olah tanah dan herbisida terhadap kehilangan unsur hara dan bahan organik akibat erosi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Lapang Terpadu dan Laboratorium Ilmu Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Lampung pada bulan Mei sampai bulan Agustus 2014. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan faktorial dalam rancangan acak kelompok lengkap (RAKL) yang terdiri dari dua faktor perlakuan yaitu sistem olah tanah dan herbisida dengan 4 (empat) pengulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pengolahan tanah, herbisida, dan kombinasi keduanya tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap konsentrasi N-Total, K-dd, Ca-dd, Mg-dd, dan C-Organik dalam sedimen erosi. Sedangkan untuk P-Tersedia hanya pengolahan tanah yang memberikan pengaruh nyata. Pada sistem olah tanah minimum konsentrasi P-Tersedia nyata lebih tinggi dibandingkan pada sistem olah tanah konvensional. Hal ini disebabkan karena sifat fosfor yang immobil, artinya fosfor yang ada di dalam tanah tetap berada di lapisan atas jika tidak dimasukkan secara mekanik ke lapisan yang lebih dalam. Terbatasnya pengolahan tanah pada sistem olah tanah minimum menyebabkan fosfor tetap berada di permukaan tanah, sehingga ketika terjadi erosi kehilangan fosfor pada sistem olah tanah minimum lebih tinggi dibandingkan pada olah tanah konvensional. Sistem olah tanah minimum menyebabkan kehilangan P-Tersedia sebesar 0,01 kg/ha dan sistem olah tanah konvensional menyebabkan kehilangan P-Tersedia sebesar 0,016 kg/ha. Land degradation is a serious problem which can reduce the land fertility and productivity. The main cause of the degradation is due to erosion phenomenon. It causes the fertile top soil losses which is good for plant growth. Tillage farming is particularly convinced as the prime cause on soil erosion. This research aims to determining the effect of tillage system and herbicide to predict the losses of nutrients and organic matter due to erosion. This experiment was conducted at the Laboratory of Lapang Terpadu and Laboratory of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung in May to August 2014. The experiment was design as a factorial in completely randomized block design (RCBD) consisting of two factors, namely the tillage system and herbicide with 4 (four) repetitions. The results showed that the treatment of soil tillage, herbicides, and the combination of them did not significantly affect the concentration of N (total), K (exchangable), Ca (exchangable), Mg (exchangable), and the C (organic) matter in sediment. While the P (available), only the tillage systems that provided significant effect. At a minimum tillage system P (available) concentration was significantly higher than the conventional tillage system. This was due to the nature of the immobil phosphorus, it mean the phosphorus in the soil remains in the top soil otherwise mechanically inserted into the sub soil. The limited tillage on minimum tillage systems causes phosphorus remain in the top soil, so that when erosion occurs phosphorus losses in minimum tillage system will be higher than in conventional tillage. The minimum tillage system causes loss of P (available) of 0,01 kg/ha and the conventional tillage system causes loss of P (available) of 0,016 kg/ha.
