Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik petani tebu di Desa Negara Tulang Bawang Kecamatan Bunga Mayang Kabupaten Lampung Utara tahun 2014 dengan kajian luas lahan garapan, status kepemilikan lahan, modal pertanian, produksi tanaman tebu, rendemen, pendapatan petani tebu, dan kriteria petani miskin. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah 49 KK dan semua populasi tersebut dijadikan sampel. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik kuesioner, dokumentasi, dan wawancara . Analisis data menggunakan distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: sebagian besar petani tebu memiliki luas lahan garapan sedang yakni sebanyak 79,59% petani, petani tebu yang memiliki lahan garapan sendiri yakni sebanyak 59,18% petani, petani tebu yang menggunakan modal kecil yakni sebanyak 63,27% petani, produksi tanaman tebu petani masih rendah yakni sebanyak 57,14% petani, sebagian besar rendemen petani tebu rendah yakni sebanyak 95,92% petani, petani tebu yang memiliki pendapatan kecil yakni sebanyak 65,31% petani, dan petani tebu yang masuk kedalam kriteria petani miskin sebanyak 55,10% petani. Kata Kunci: Karakteristik, Petani, Tebu This research aims to investigate the characteristics of sugar cane farmers in Negara Tulang Bawang village Bunga Mayang subdistrict North Lampung district in 2014 with studies of land area, land tenure, agricultural capital, crop production of sugar cane, rendemen, sugar cane farmers income, and poor farmers criteria. This research used a descriptive research method. Population of 49 families and all of the sampled population. Collecting data using questionnaire techniques, documentation, and interviews. Analysis of data using frequency distribution. The results of this research show that: most of the sugar cane farmers have the not too wide land area as many as 79,59% of the farmers, sugar cane farmers have their land tenure as many as 59,18% of the farmers, sugar cane farmers using small capital as many as 63,27% of the farmers, farmer's crop production is still low as many as 57,14% of the farmers, most of rendemen of sugar cane farmers low as many as 95,92% of the farmers, sugarcane farmers who have little income that is as many as 65,31% of farmers, and sugar cane farmers who include to the criteria of poor farmers as many as 55,10% of farmers.
