ABSTRACT The widespread forest fires are problem not only in Indonesia but also in Southeast Asia. Smoke of the forest fires contains several substances such as carbon monoxide, particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, formaldehyde, akrelein, benzene, nitrogen oxides and ozone that when exposed can lead to various lung disorders and respiratory system such as acute respiratory infections, bronchitis, asthma exacerbations and death. The purpose of this study is to determine effect of different duration from organic material by smoke burning exposure to trachea histopathology in male rats Sprague dawley strain. This is laboratory experimental with post test only control group design. In this study, 25 male rats are divided randomly into 5 groups and treated for 7 days. K(-) is not given any exposure, P1, P2, P3 and P4 are given smoke exposure at 60 minutes/day, 120 minutes/day, 180 minutes/day, 240 minutes/day. The result showed that in Oneway Annova test for goblet cell is found a significant difference with p=0.001 (p<0.05) and in Kruskal Wallis test for silia is found a significant difference with p=0.001 (p<0.05). There is an effect of different duration from organic material by smoke burning exposure to trachea histopathology in male rats Sprague dawley strain. Keywords: difference duration exposure, organic material, smoke, trachea ABSTRAK Kebakaran hutan menjadi masalah bukan hanya di Indonesia tetapi berdampak juga di Asia Tenggara. Asap kebakaran hutan mengandung beberapa zat yang seperti karbon monoksida, materi partikulat, sulfur dioksida, formaldehid, akrelein, benzena, nitrogen oksida dan ozon yang yang apabila terpapar dapat mengakibatkan berbagai gangguan paru dan sistem pernafasan seperti infeksi saluran pernafasan akut, bronkitis, asma eksaserbasi dan kematian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan durasi paparan asap pembakaran bahan organik terhadap gambaran hisopatologi trakea tikus putih (Rattus novergicus) jantan galur Sprague dawley. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental laboratorik dengan desain post test only control group design. Pada penelitian ini, 25 ekor tikus putih dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok secara acak dan diberi perlakuan selama 7 hari. K(-) tidak diberi paparan, P1 dipapar asap selama 60 menit/hari, P2 diapapar asap selama 120 menit/hari, P3 dipapar asap selama 180 menit/hari dan P4 dipapar asap selama 240 menit/hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada uji Oneway Annova untuk sel goblet didapatkan p=0,001 (p<0,05) dan pada uji Kruskal Wallis untuk silia didapatkan hasil p=0,001 (p<0,05). Terdapat pengaruh perbedaan waktu paparan asap pembakaran bahan organik terhadap gambaran histopatologi trakea tikus putih (Rattus novergicus) jantan galur Sprague dawley.
