Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Pada penelitian ini dilakukan adsorpsi menggunakan adsorben biomassa alga Sargassum sp. yang dimodifikasi menggunakan larutan NaCl dan HDTMA-Br oleh zat warna kristal violet dan metil oranye. Adsorben yang dihasilkan adalah alga, alga-Na, dan alga-HDTMA dikarakterisasi dengan Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) untuk mengetahui gugus fungsi dan Scanning Structural Equation Modelling with Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX) untuk mengetahui morfologi permukaan dan komposisi unsur pada adsorben. Hasil modifikasi alga-Na dan alga- HDTMA ditandai dengan munculnya puncak pada bilangan gelombang 1419,61 cm-1 yang menunjukkan adanya ikatan O-Na serta 1465,90 cm-1 yang menunjukkan adanya kelompok metil dari HDTMA pada karakterisasi FTIR, adanya butiran halus yang menempel serta area permukaan yang luas pada alga menandakan keberadaan Na dan Br pada mikrograf SEM, serta adanya unsur Na dan Br pada spektrum EDX. Hasil adsorpsi zat warna kristal violet dan metil oranye optimum masing – masing pada pH 9 (94,799%) dan 5 (98,325%), waktu kontak 120 menit, dan konsentrasi 250 mg/L pada larutan monokomponen serta 0,76 mmol/L pada larutan bikomponen. Laju adsorpsi zat warna kristal violet dan metil oranye terhadap adsorben alga, alga-Na, dan alga-HDTMA cenderung mengikuti model kinetika pseudo orde dua dan isoterm adsorpsinya cenderung mengikuti model isoterm Freundlich. Penggunaan ulang adsorben Alga-HDTMA dilakukan sebanyak 4 kali siklus pengulangan dengan % adsorpsi kristal violet >90% serta metil oranye >80% yang menunjukkan adsorpsi alga-HDTMA efektif dalam mengadsorpsi zat warna kristal violet dan metil oranye. BIOMASS ADSORBENT MODIFIED WITH SURFACTANT Hexadechyltrimethylammonium Bromide (HDTMA-Br) By TRI APRIYANI In this study, adsorption process was carried out using the Sargassum sp. algae biomass adsorbent modified using NaCl and HDTMA-Br solutions against by crystal violet and methyl orange dyes. The adsorbents produced by algae, algae-Na, and algae-HDTMA were characterized by Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) to determine the functional group and Scanning Structural Equation Modeling with Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX) to determine the surface morphology and elemental composition of the adsorbent. The results of modified algae-Na and algae-HDTMA were indicated by the appearance of a peak at wave number 1419.61 cm-1, which showed the presence of O-Na bonds, and 1465.90 cm-1, which showed the presence of a methyl group from HDTMA in the FTIR characterization. The presence of refined grains attached and a large surface area in the algae indicated the presence of Na and Br on SEM micrographs and the presence of Na and Br elements in the EDX spectrum. The adsorption results of crystal violet and methyl orange results dye were optimum at pH 9 (94,779%) and 5 (98,325%), a contact time of 120 minutes, and a concentration is 250 mg/L in monocomponent solution and 0.76 mmol/L in bicomponent solution. The adsorption rate of crystal violet and methyl orange dyes are on algae, algae-Na, and algae-HDTMA adsorbents tended to follow the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the adsorption isotherm tended to follow the Freundlich isotherm model. The reuse of Algae-HDTMA adsorbent was carried out for four cycles with adsorption of crystal violet >90% and methyl orange >80%, which showed that algae-HDTMA adsorption was effective in adsorption of crystal violet and methyl orange dyes.
