ABSTRAK PENGARUH PEMBERIAN EKSTRAK DAUN PEGAGAN (Centella asiatica [L.] Urban) TERHADAP GAMBARAN HISTOPATOLOGIS HEPAR TIKUS PUTIH (Rattus norvegicus) GALUR SPARAGUE DAWLEY YANG DIINDUKSI ETANOL OLEH SINTA MEIDINA Latar Belakang: Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) konsumsi alkohol di Indonesia tercatat sebesar 0,36 liter per kapita. Sedangkan konsumsi alkohol di perkotaan tercatat sebesar 0,18 liter per kapita, itu menjadi masalah besar. Konsumsi alkohol yang berlebihan akan dikaitkan dengan kerusakan hepar, baik dalam jangka waktu cepat ataupun jangka panjang, selain itu juga bisa menyebabkan kanker. Dalam rangka masyarakat melakukan usaha back to nature, salah satu tanaman terpilihnya adalah daun pegagan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti apakah terdapat pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun pegagan (Centella asiastica [L.] Urban) terhadap gambaran histopatologis hepar tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur sparague dawley yang diinduksi etanol. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan 30 ekor tikus yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol 1 (K1), kelompok kontrol 2 (K2) yang hanya diberi etanol tanpa ekstrak daun pegagan, kelompok perlakuan 1, 2, dan 3 yang diberikan etanol 2mL/hari dan dilanjutkan dengan pemberian esktrak daun pegagan dengan dosis berturut-turut 10mg/KgBB, 20mg/KgBB, dan 40mg/KgBB selama 14 hari. Hasil: Hasil rerata skor kerusakan hepar yang didapatkan adalah K1= 181,4; K2= 271,8; P1= 243,6; P2= 228,4; P3= 208,8. Data diuji dengan Shapiro-wilk silanjutkan dengan uji post hoc Tamhane’s dan didapatkan adanya perbedaan rerata yang bermakna antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok perlakuan. Dari hasil rerata tersebut dapat dilihat peningkatan dosis daun pegagan berfungsi sebagai hepatoprotektor Kesimpulan: Terdapat pengaruh ekstrak daun pegagan terhadap gambaran histopatologi hepar tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) jantan sparague dawley yang diinduksi etanol. ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF GIVING GOTU KOLA (Centella asiatica [L.] Urban) LEAVE EXTRACT ON LIVER HISTOPATHOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION OF ETHANOL-INDUCED WHITE RAT (Rattus norvegicus) SPARAGUE DAWLEY STRAIN INDUCTED BY ETHANOL BY SINTA MEIDINA Background: Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) alcohol consumption in Indonesia is recorded at 0.36 liters per capita. While alcohol consumption in urban areas was recorded at 0.18 liters per capita, it became a big problem. Excessive alcohol consumption will be associated with liver damage, either in the short term or long term, but it can also cause cancer. In order for the community to do business back to nature, one of the plants chosen is gotu kola leaf. This study aims to examine whether there is an effect of giving gotu kola (Centella asiastica [L.] Urban) leaf extract on the histopathological picture of the liver of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) sparague dawley strain induced by ethanol. Method: This study used 30 rats divided into 5 groups, that control group 1 (K1)given aquades, control group 2 (K2) only given ethanol without giving gotu kola leaf extract, treatment groups 1, 2, and 3 given ethanol 2mL/day orally followed by gotu kola leaf extract with successive doses of 10 mg/KgBW, 20mg/KgBW, and 40mg/KgBW for 14 days. Result: The average liver damage score obtained were K1 = 181.4; K2= 271.8; P1= 243.6; P2= 228.4; P3= 208.8. The data were tested with Shapiro-wilk followed by Tamhane's post hoc test and it was found that there was a significant mean difference between the control group and the treatment group. Conclusion: There is an effect of gotu kola (Centella asiatica) leaf extract on liver histopathology on white rats male Sparague dawley rats (Rattus norvegicus) strain induced by ethanol.
