Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

This research aims to find the correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and their ability in writing report text and investigate the extent to which students’ vocabulary mastery affects students’ ability in writing report text. This research is quantitative research by using the correlation method. In taking the sample, the researcher used the purposive sampling technique. The number of the sample is 22 students at XI IPA 5 SMA N 12 Bandar Lampung. The instrument of this research was a vocabulary size test and writing test. The collected data was analyzed by using two ways: the technique used to classify the students into three criteria and the technique used to analyze the data by using Pearson Product Moment correlation. The result of the study shown by the coefficient correlation (rxy) is 0.951. It indicates that there is a high relationship between the students‘ vocabulary mastery and their writing report text ability since it is included in the scale of r interpretation score between 0.800-1.00. With degree of significance 5%, the score of r table (rt) obtained is 0.444, therefore, rxy>rt (0.951 > 0.444), meanwhile, with degree of significance 1%, the score of rt gained is 0.561, therefore, rxy>rt (0.951 > 0.561); consequently, the conclusion reached is Ha is accepted.
