ABSTRAK PENGARUH PEMBERIAN REWARD DAN PUNISHMENT TERHADAP PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER DISIPLIN PESERTA DIDIK KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR Oleh HENDA SETYAWATI Pembentukan karakter disiplin peserta didik kelas V di SDN 1 Wonosobo masih rendah. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan karakter disiplin yaitu dengan memberikan reward dan punishment, namun penerapan pada kelas tersebut masih belum maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian reward dan punishment terhadap pembentukan karakter disiplin peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain penelitian true experimental dengan teknik posttest only control design. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuisioner dan dokumentasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 40 orang peserta didik dan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel simple random sampling dengan 20 peserta didik sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 20 peserta didik sebagai kelompok kontrol. Analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana, berganda, dan uji T. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa pemberian reward dan punishment secara bersama-sama memberikan pengaruh sebesar 87,6% terhadap pembentukan karakter disiplin peserta didik, hal tersebut diperkuat dengan bukti bahwa adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol pada hasil uji T dengan thitung lebih besar dibandingkan dengan ttabel (7,178>2,024). Kata kunci : hukuman, karakter disiplin, penghargaan ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF REWARDS AND PUNISHMENTS ON THE BUILDING OF THE CHARACTER OF THE DISCIPLINE STUDENTS FIFTH GRADE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL By HENDA SETYAWATI The formation of the discipline character of fifth grade students at SDN 1 Wonosobo is still low. One of the efforts to improve the character of discipline is to provide rewards and punishments, but the application in the class is still not optimal. This study aims to determine the effect of giving rewards and punishments on the formation of the disciplined character of students. This type of research is quantitative using a true experimental research design with a posttest only control design technique. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. The population in this study was 40 students and used a simple random sampling technique with 20 students as the experimental group and 20 students as the control group. Data analysis used simple regression analysis, multiple regression, and T test. The results of this study are that the provision of rewards and punishments together has an effect of 87.6% on the formation of the disciplined character of students, this is reinforced by evidence that there are significant differences. significant difference between the experimental class and the control class on the results of the T test with tcount greater than ttable (7,178>2,024).
