Abstrak

Research and development is motivated by the lack of textbooks in school, are less interesting color, image display existing textbooks, school textbooks is difficult to understand its content, the need for students' social skills, the need for module-based learning social skills, and the high cost of textbooks . Research for Development aims to produce IPS module-based social skills and to analyze the effectiveness of social skills-based IPS module. This study is a research & development (R & D) with a modified Borg and Gall with the development of Dick and Carey module design. The population in this study were students of SMP Negeri 3 Baradatu grade 8. Samples were taken with a random sampling technique claster. Product modules validated by expert instructional material, instructional design experts, linguists, teachers and students. The effectiveness of the product obtained using experimental test of pre-test and post-test (control group deign). Data pre-test and post-test were analyzed using t test and comparison of normalized gain. The results of this research is the creation of a social skills-based module products in grade 8 students' junior semester 1. IPS module-based social skill. obtaining responses appropriate and good for development. The module effectively demonstrated through test effectiveness by comparing normalized gain value indicates a higher efficacy with the acquisition value gain of 0.700. Penelitian dan Pengembangan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh terbatasnya buku paket di sekolah, kurang menariknya warna, tampilan gambar buku paket yang ada, buku paket sekolah sulit untuk dipahami isinya, ,perlunya keterampilan sosial bagi siswa, perlunya modul pembelajaran yang berbasis keterampilan sosial, dan mahalnya buku cetak. Penelitian bertujuan untuk untuk menghasilkan produk modul IPS berbasis keterampilan sosial dan untuk menganalisis efektifitas modul IPS berbasis keterampilan sosial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R & D) Borg and Gall dengan dimodifikasi dengan pengembangan desain modul Dick and Carey. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri 3 Baradatu kelas 8. Sampel diambil dengan teknik claster random sampling. Produk modul ini divalidasi oleh ahli materi pembelajaran, ahli desain pembelajaran, ahli bahasa, guru dan siswa. Efektivitas produk diperoleh dengan menggunakan uji eksperimen pre test dan post test (control group deign). Data pre test dan post test dianalisis dengan menggunakan t test dan perbandingan gain ternormalisasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terciptanya produk modul berbasis keterampilan sosial pada siswa SMP kelas 8 semester 1. Berdasarkan penilaian dari ahli bahasa, ahli desain modul dan ahli materi Modul IPS berbasis keterampilan sosial ini memperoleh tanggapan yang baik untuk dikembangkan. Modul tersebut efektif dengan dibuktikan melalui Uji efektivitas melalui perbandingan nilai gain ternormalisasi menunjukkan efektivitas tinggi dengan perolehan nilai gain sebesar 0,700.
