Abstrak

This study aims to discover the challenges the pre-service teachers faced during their field practicum in school. This research was quantitative research with a survey method. The participants were seventy-three pre-service EFL teachers in some universities in Bandar Lampung. The questionnaire was a closed-ended questionnaire using forty-five items adopted from Stronge (2007) used Likert scale modified into four alternative answer choices and interview. The participants were pre-service EFL teachers batch 2018 in some universities in Bandar Lampung who have already done their field practicum course at school. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Based on the result data, the pre-service teachers were getting challenges in managing the classroom and handling students' behavior and motivation. It is confirmed by several studies that examine challenges in practicum as well. Keywords: Challenges, pre-service teacher, field practicum
