ABSTRACT PERFORMANCE OF AGRICULTURAL EXTENSIONS WORKER BEFORE THE PANDEMIC AND DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN KOTABUMI SELATAN DISTRICT, LAMPUNG UTARA REGENCY By Siti Nurhalizah Performance has a broad meaning, not only the results of work, but how the work process takes place, performance is about doing the work and the results achieved from the work. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of agricultural extension workers before the pandemic and during the covid-19 pandemic, the obstacles experienced by extension workers before and during the covid-19 pandemic, factors related to the performance of agricultural extension workers during the covid-19 pandemic. The data collection in this study used the census method, carried out in June–July 2022. The respondents of this study were 5 extension workers in Kotabumi Selatan District and 77 members of the assisted farmer groups. Hypothesis testing using non-parametric statistical test analysis Spearman Rank correlation. The results showed that the performance of agricultural extension workers in Kotabumi Selatan District, North Lampung Regency before the pandemic and during the COVID-19 pandemic was in the good category. The obstacles experienced by agricultural extension workers are lack of funds, lack of farmer participation, inadequate facilities and infrastructure for extension workers to support extension activities, while during the COVID-19 pandemic, other obstacles experienced were the absence of credit assistance and quotas to support access. internet, extension activities must apply health protocols, communication is hampered.. Factors related to the performance of agricultural extension workers during the covid-19 pandemic in Kotabumi Selatan District, North Lampung Regency are age, level of formal education, work experience, level of motivation, number of family members, distance from work area, number of assisted farmers, availability of facilities and infrastructure, extension methods and techniques Keywords: Performance, Agricultural Extension, Barriers, Factors. Kinerja memiliki makna yang luas, bukan hanya hasil kerja, tetapi bagaimana proses pekerjaan berlangsung, kinerja adalah tentang melakukan pekerjaan dan hasil yang dicapai dari pekerjaan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kinerja penyuluh pertanian saat sebelum pandemi dan saat pandemi covid-19, hambatan yang dialami penyuluh pada saat sebelum dan saat pandemi covid-19, faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kinerja penyuluh pertanian saat pandemi covid-19. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode sensus, dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni–Juli 2022. Responden penelitian ini adalah 5 orang penyuluh di Kecamatan Kotabumi Selatan dan 77 anggota kelompok tani binaan. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan analisis uji statistik non parametrik korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja penyuluh pertanian di Kecamatan Kotabumi Selatan Kabupaten Lampung Utara sebelum pandemi dan saat pandemi covid-19 berada pada kategori baik. Hambatan yang dialami penyuluh pertanian kekurangan dana, partisipasi petani yang masih kurang, sarana dan prasarana yang masih kurang cukup bagi para penyuluh untuk menunjang kegiatan penyuluhan, sedangkan pada saat pandemi covid-19 hambatan lainnya yang dialami yaitu tidak adanya bantuan pulsa dan kuota untuk mendukung akses internet, kegiatan penyuluhan harus menerapkan protokol kesehatan, komunikasi yang terhambat.. Faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kinerja penyuluh pertanian pada saat pandemi covid-19 di Kecamatan Kotabumi Selatan Kabupaten Lampung Utara adalah umur, tingkat pendidan formal, pengalaman kerja, tingkat motivasi, jumlah anggota keluarga, jarak wilayah kerja, jumlah petani binaan, ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana, metode dan teknik penyuluhan Kata Kunci: Kinerja, Penyuluh Pertanian, Hambatan, Faktor-faktor,
