Abstrak

PT Gunung Madu Plantations (GMP) sugar cane plantations has been conducted an intensive land management since 1975. In order to maintain product and sustainable soil fertility is necessary to maintanance land management, such as minimum tillage and the utilization of residual sugar factory as mulch, for example, is bagasse. Tillage systems and mulching bagasse treatment will affect the activity of soil microorganisms that can be measured by soil respiration. Research was carried out since July 2010, soil respiration observations performed at 21 and 24 months after the first rotun, in April and July 2012. The study was designed as a split plot in a randomized block design (RBD) with 5 replications. The main plot tillage system that consists of no-tillage (t0) and intensive tillage (t1). The subplots were bagasse mulch application, which consists of non-bagasse mulch (m0) and bagasse mulch 80 t ha-1 (m1). Before anova data were analyzed by Bartleet test and Tukey test at confidence level of 1% and 5%. Main values were analyzed by Least Significant Differences Budi Cahyono (LSD) at 1% and 5%. The results showed that tillage systems and bagasse mulch application did not significant by effect on soil respiration in both the morning and afternoon observation. The main values of soil respiration in the plant were in mulch and tillage, mulch and no tillage respectired. There were no correlation effect betwen soil respiration and soil organic-C, soil pH, soil temperature and soil moisture. Perkebunan tebu dan pabrik gula PT Gunung Madu Plantations (GMP) telah melakukan pengelolaan tanah secara intensif sejak tahun 1975. Untuk mempertahankan produksi dan kesuburan tanah perlu dilakukan pengelolaan tanah yang berkelanjutan, antara lain dengan sistem olah tanah minimum dan pemanfaatan sisa pabrik gula sebagai mulsa, contohnya adalah bagas. Perlakuan sistem olah tanah dan pemberian mulsa bagas akan mempengaruhi aktivitas mikroorganisme tanah yang dapat diukur dengan respirasi tanah. Penelitian dilaksanakan sejak Juli 2010, pengamatan respirasi tanah dilakukan pada 21 dan 24 bulan setelah rotun pertama, yaitu pada bulan April dan Juli 2012. Penelitian ini dirancang secara split plot dalam rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 5 kali ulangan. Petak utama yaitu sistem olah tanah yang terdiri dari dari tanpa olah tanah (t0) dan olah tanah intensif (t1). Anak petak adalah aplikasi mulsa bagas, yang terdiri dari tanpa mulsa bagas (m0) dan mulsa bagas 80 t ha-1 (m1). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam pada taraf 1% dan 5%, Budi Cahyono yang sebelumnya telah diuji homogenitas ragamnya dengan uji Bartlett dan aditivitasnya dengan uji Tukey, dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT pada taraf 1% dan 5%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem olah tanah dan aplikasi mulsa bagas tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap respirasi tanah baik pada pagi dan sore hari. Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan bahwa respirasi tanah tidak mempunyai korelasi dengan C-Organik tanah, pH tanah, suhu tanah dan kelembaban tanah.
