Abstrak

This research and development aims to develop a problem based learning model for improving the critical thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students. The research method used a Borg & Gall design. The research sample is class VA students at SDN 2 Way Huwi. The research instrument uses tests and non-tests. Data analysis techniques is quantitative descriptive and n-gain. The result of the research is the development of a problem based learning learning model based on the assessments of 5 experts, namely learning experts, evaluation experts, material experts, design experts and language experts, getting the very good category. The effectiveness of the learning model based on the results of the N-gain test, got a presentation of 0.30 < g < 0.70 with a score of 0.56 (good). Problem based learning learning model is effective to improve students' critical thinking skills class V elementsry school. Keywords: critical thinking, learning model, problem based learning Penelitian dan pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran problem based learning untuk peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas V sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain Borg & Gall. Sampel penelitiannya adalah peserta didik kelas VA SDN 2 Way Huwi. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes dan non tes. Teknik analisis data yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dan N-gain. Hasil penelitian adalah pengembangan model pembelajaran problem based learning berdasarkan penilaian dari 5 ahli yaitu ahli pembelajaran, ahli evaluasi, ahli materi, ahli desain dan ahli bahasa, mendapatkan kategori sangat baik. Keefektifan model pembelajaran berdasarkan hasil uji N-gain, mendapatkan presentasi 0,30 < g < 0,70 dengan skor 0,56 (baik). Model pembelajaran problem based learning efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas V sekolah dasar.
