Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pemahaman materi dasar pemetaan terhadap kemampuan membuat peta siswa kelas X Jurusan IPS di UPT SMA negeri 3 Empat Lawang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X Jurusan IPS dengan sampel kelas X IPS 1 berjumlah 35 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi (pengamatan) dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif, jenis pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis data menggunakan Korelasi Produk Moment. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang sangat kuat antara pemahaman materi dasar pemetaan terhadap kemampuan membuat peta siswa kelas X Jurusan IPS di UPT SMA Negeri 3 Empat Lawang. Hubungan antara pemahaman materi dasar pemetaan terhadap kemampuan membuat peta yakni sebesar 0,844 jika dipersentasekan mencapai 71,2%. Kata Kunci: Peta, Membuat Peta This study aims to determine the relationship between understanding the basic material of mapping and the ability to make maps of students in class X majoring in social studies at UPT SMA Negeri 3 Empat Lawang. This study uses a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all students of class X majoring in social studies with a sample of class X IPS 1 totaling 35 students. Collecting data using tests, observations (observations) and documentation. The data analysis technique in this study uses descriptive statistical analysis, the type of quantitative approach with data analysis uses product moment correlation. The results of this study indicate that there is a close relationship between understanding the basic material of mapping and the ability to make maps of students in class X majoring in social studies at UPT SMA Negeri 3 Empat Lawang. The relationship between understanding the basic material of mapping and the ability to make maps is 0.844 if the percentage reaches 71.2%. Keywords: Map, Making Map
