ABSTRAK PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN JENIS LITTER SEKAM PADI DAN SERUTAN KAYU TERHADAP SUHU LITTER, pH, DAN KADAR AMONIA PADA KANDANG CLOSED HOUSE UNIVERSITAS LAMPUNG Oleh Rifki Dwi Anggoro Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : 1) mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan jenis litter sekam padi dan serutan kayu di closed house terhadap suhu litter, pH, dan kadar amonia; 2) mengetahui jenis litter yang terbaik dalam pemeliharaan broiler di closed house terhadap suhu litter, pH, dan kadar amonia. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 30 hari yaitu pada 28 Maret--26 April 2022, di closed house Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode eksperimental pada 5.312 ekor ayam broiler. Perlakuan yang diberikan terdiri atas jenis bahan litter (serutan kayu dan sekam padi). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis uji T dengan membandingkan dua perlakuan antara litter serutan kayu dan sekam padi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ; (1) penggunaan jenis bahan litter serutan kayu dan sekam padi pada closed house menghasilkan pengaruh tidak nyata terhadap suhu litter, tetapi berpengaruh nyata terhadap kadar amonia dan pH litter pada minggu ketiga dan keempat; (2) perlakuan jenis bahan litter sekam padi pada closed house memberikan pengaruh yang baik terhadap kualitas litter. Kata kunci : Broiler, closed house, litter, sekam padi, dan serutan kayu. This study aims to : 1) determine the effect of the use of rice husk and wood shavings in the cage on the litter temperature, pH, and levels of ammonia; 2) determine the best type of litter in broiler rearing in cages on litter temperature, pH, and levels of ammonia. This research was conducted for 30 days, from March 28 to April 26, 2022, in the broiler closed house of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. This research was conducted using an experimental method on 5.312 heads broiler. The treatment given consisted of the type of litter material (wood shavings and rice husks). The data obtained were analyzed by using T test analysis by comparing the two treatments between wood shavings litter and rice husks. The results of this study showed that ; (1) the use of wood shavings and rice husks in closed house had an insignificant effect on litter temperature, but had a significant effect on ammonia levels and litter pH in the third and fourth weeks; (2) the treatment of the type of rice husk material in a closed house has a good influence on the quality of the litter.
