ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BODY MASS INDEX (BMI) AND THE INCIDENCE OF UTERINE MYOMA IN WOMEN OF REPRODUCTIVE AGE AT DR. H. ABDUL MOELOEK LAMPUNG PERIOD: JANUARY 2021–AUGUST 2022 By TIARA SEKAR RAHMADANI Background: Uterine myoma is a benign tumor of the myometrium. Overweight and obesity are the causes of myoma development because the number of fat cells is greater. Adipose cells are exogenous factors that produce the hormone estrogen. Uterine myoma occurs in 20%–40% of women of reproductive age. Methode: This study uses an analytical method with a cross-sectional approach. Data were taken from 398 samples, and a minimum sample of 81 women of childbearing age was obtained using a simple random sampling technique. This study uses secondary data, namely medical records. Result: The results of the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and uterine myoma in women of childbearing age (WUS) obtained p = 0.001 (p<0.05) and OR = 7.086 (CI = 2.332–21.531) showed that patients with BMI were represented by more than 52 samples, consisting of 31 samples (59.6%) with uterine fibroids and 21 samples (40.4%) with other gynecological diseases. In patients with normal BMI, there were 29 samples, consisting of 5 samples (17.2%) with uterine fibroids and 24 samples (82.8%) with other gynecological diseases. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between BMI and uterine myoma in WUS, and it is possible that WUS with a high BMI will have a uterine myoma that is 7 times greater than that of WUS with a normal BMI. ABDUL MOELOEK PROVINSI LAMPUNG PERIODE JANUARI 2021 – AGUSTUS 2022 OLEH TIARA SEKAR RAHMADANI Latar Belakang: Mioma uteri adalah tumor jinak pada miometrium. Overweight dan obesitas menjadi penyebab perkembangan mioma karena jumlah sel lemak lebih banyak. Sel adiposa merupakan faktor eksogen penghasil hormon estrogen. Mioma uteri terjadi pada 20%-40% wanita di usia reproduksi. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analitik dengan pendekatan potong lintang. Data diambil dari 398 sampel dan didapatkan minimal sampel berjumlah 81 sampel wanita usia subur yang diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder yaitu rekam medis. Hasil: Hasil dari hubungan indeks massa tubuh (IMT) dengan mioma uteri pada wanita usia subur (WUS) didapatkan hasil p=0,001 (p<0,05) dan OR=7,086 (CI=2,332-21.531), pasien dengan IMT lebih terdapat 52 sampel, terdiri dari 31 sampel (59,6%) dengan mioma uteri dan 21 sampel (40,4%) dengan penyakit ginekologi lain. Pada pasien dengan IMT normal terdapat 29 sampel, terdiri dari 5 sampel (17,2%) dengan mioma uteri dan 24 sampel (82,8%) dengan penyakit ginekologi lain. Simpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara IMT dengan mioma uteri pada WUS dan kemungkinan WUS dengan IMT lebih mengalami mioma uteri 7 kali lipat lebih besar daripada WUS dengan IMT normal.
