Karakteristik media sosial yang bersifat maya seringkali menghasilkan fenomena- fenomena yang populer baik dikalangan pengguna media sosial itu sendiri bahkan khalayak luas. Salah satu fenomena yang populer dari media sosial yaitu fenomena meme. Munculnya fenomena meme di media sosial tentunya tidak lepas dari peran pengguna media sosial itu sendiri dalam melakukan penyebaran informasi terkait meme. Salah satu media sosial yang sering menyajikan informasi tentang meme adalah akun facebook Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial. Akun facebook Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial hingga saat ini sudah banyak mengunggah konten meme untuk menambah informasi meme penggunanya. Penelitian ini akan membahas tentang bagaimana pemanfaatan media sosial facebook Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial yang dilakukan oleh pengikut akun facebook Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial dalam rangka untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Uses and Gratification. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi kepada empat informan yang mengikuti akun facebook Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial. Hasil dari penelitian ini para pengikut akun facebook Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial memanfaatkan media sosial facebook Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial dengan cara menyukai, membagikan, dan berkomentar terhadap informasi yang didapatkan dari akun facebook Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa para pengikut akun facebook Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial memanfaatkan akun facebook Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial sebagai media informasi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi tentang meme. Kata kunci : Pemanfaatan, Facebook, Media Informasi, Meme. The characteristics of social media that are virtual often produce phenomena that are popular both among social media users themselves and even the wider audience. One of the popular phenomena of social media is the meme phenomenon. The emergence of the meme phenomenon on social media cannot be separated from the role of social media users themselves in disseminating information related to memes. One social media that often provides information about memes is the Facebook account Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial. Facebook account Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial until now has uploaded a lot of meme content to add meme information to its users. This research will discuss how to use Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial Facebook social media by followers of the Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial Facebook account in order to meet information needs. The theory used in this research is the Uses and Gratification theory. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. The data collection technique used in this study was through interviews, observation, and documentation with four informants who follow the Facebook account Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial. The results of this study are followers of the Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial facebook account utilizing Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial social media by liking, sharing, and commenting on information obtained from the Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial facebook account. The conclusion of this study is that followers of the Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial facebook account use the Know Your Meme Indonesia – Unofficial facebook account as an information medium to meet information needs about memes.
