Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari sebuah permasalahan pembelajaran permainan bola basket pada siswa SMP Negeri 1 Natar. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan hasil keterampilan chest pass serta untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan keseriusan siswa dalam pembelajaran melalui pemanfaatan media modifikasi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindak kelas (PTK) dengan prosedur penelitian meliputi planning, action, observation dan reflecting. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII C SMP Negeri 1 Natar yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes keterampilan chest pass bola basket dan observasi dari proses pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah secara deskriptif yang didasarkan pada analisis kuantitatif. Dari hasil analisis yang diperoleh terdapat peningkatan kondisi dari observasi awal ke siklus I siklus II dan siklus III, baik dari peningkatan aktivitas dalam proses pembelajaran maupun hasil akhir keterampilan chest pass bola basket. Dari pengukuran diperoleh prosentasi ketuntasan hasil belajar keterampilan chest pass bola basket pada kondisi awal: pada kategori putra 14,3% dan 5,6% pada kategori putri, siklus I: 35,7% untuk kategori putra dan 27,8% untuk kategori putri, siklus II: 78,6% untuk kategori putra dan 72,2% untuk kategori putri, dan siklus III: 92,9% siswa untuk kategori putra dan 88,9% siswa untuk kategori putri. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh simpulan bahwa penerapan media modifikasi dapat meningkatkan keterampilan chest pass bola basket. Kata Kunci: bola basket, chest pass, media modifikasi. This research is motivated by a problem of basketball learning in students of SMP Negeri 1 Natar. This study aims to improve the results of chest pass skills and to increase students' motivation in learning through the use of modified media. This research method uses class action research (PTK) with research procedures including planning, action, observation and reflecting. The subjects of this research were class VII C students of SMP Negeri 1 Natar, which consisted of 32 students. Data collection techniques through a basketball chest pass skill test and observation of the learning process. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive based on quantitative analysis. From the results of the analysis obtained there was an increase in conditions from the initial observation to cycle I, cycle II and cycle III, both from increased activity in the learning process and the final results of the basketball chest pass skills. From the measurement, it was obtained the percentage of completeness of the learning outcomes of the basketball chest pass skill in the initial conditions: in the male category 14.3% and 5.6% in the female category, cycle I: 35.7% for the male category and 27.8% for the female category , cycle II: 78.6% for the male category and 72.2% for the female category, and cycle III: 92.9% of students for the male category and 88.9% of students for the female category. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the application of modified media could improve basketball chest pass skills. Keywords: basketball, chest pass, media modification
