Keterampilan berpikir analisis merupakan bagian dari keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang dibutuhkan peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPS di Abad 21. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir analisis peserta didik dengan menggunakan instrumen tes berbasis soal Higher Order Thingking Skills (HOTS) dengan bantuan Edmodo. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development dengan model penelitian ADDIE (Analysis – Design – Development – Implementation – Evaluation). Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa instrumen tes berbasis soal HOTS dengan bantuan Edmodo layak untuk digunakan sebagai instrumen penilaian pada mata pelajaran IPS Kelas VIII. Instrumen tes berbasis soal HOTS dengan bantuan Edmodo cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir analisis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPS. Pada Indikator “Membedakan” diperoleh nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,33 termasuk ke dalam kategori cukup efektif. Pada indikator “Mengorganisasikan” diperoleh nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,38 termasuk ke dalam kategori cukup efektif. Pada indikator “Mengatribusikan” diperoleh nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,25 termasuk ke dalam kategori tidak efektif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu dua dari tiga indikator pada keterampilan berpikir analisis dapat ditingkatkan melalui pemberian instrumen tes berbasis soal HOTS, indikator tersebut adalah membedakan dan mengorganisasikan. Implikasi penelitian ini yaitu instrumen tes berbasis soal HOTS dengan bantuan Edmodo dapat melatih peserta didik dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir analisis pada mata pelajaran IPS. Kata kunci: instrumen tes, soal HOTS, Edmodo, IPS. Analytical thinking skills are part of the higher order thinking skills needed by students in social studies subjects in the 21st century. The purpose of this study was to improve students' analytical thinking skills by using a test instrument based on Higher Order Thingking Skills (HOTS) with Edmodo. The method used is Research and Development with the ADDIE (Analysis - Design - Development - Implementation - Evaluation) research model. The research design used was Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The results of this study indicate that the HOTS question-based test instrument with Edmodo is feasible to be used as an assessment instrument in Grade VIII social studies subjects. The HOTS question- based test instrument with Edmodo is quite effective in improving students' analytical thinking skills in social studies subjects. In the indicator to distinguish the N-Gain value of 0.33 it is included in the quite effective category. In the organizing indicator, the N-Gain value of 0.38 is included in the quite effective category. In the attributing indicator, the N-Gain value of 0.25 is included in the ineffective category. The conclusion of this study is that two of the three indicators on analytical thinking skills can be improved through the provision of HOTS question-based test instrument, the indicators are distinguishing and organizing. The implication of this research is that the HOTS question-based test instrument with Edmodo can train students to improve analytical thinking skills in social studies subjects.
