Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Vocabulary is part of English component, which plays an essential role in mastering all English skills; listening, reading, speaking, and writing. In fact, many students still need more vocabulary and motivation to learn English. Therefore, this research aimed at finding out i) whether there is a significant improvement of students’ vocabulary achievement after the implementation of animated videos and ii) which content word that improve the most and improve the least after implementing animated videos. This research is a quantitative research with a pre-test, a set of treatments, and a post-test. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 23 Bandar Lampung academic year 2022/2023, with 29 students of the 8H class as the sample. The instrument used in this research was a vocabulary test in the multiple choice form, and the researcher used pre-test and post-test to collect the data. The researcher used Repeated Measure t-test with a significance level of 0.05 in analyzing the data. The result showed the students’ mean score increased from 62 on the pre-test to 81 on the post-test, which gained 19 points. The computation result showed that the t-ratio (12.760) was higher than the t-table (2.048), and the significant value of the test is lower than alpha (0.000<0.05). It is also revealed that verb was the content of word that most improved than the other content words. It can be concluded that the use of animated video is effective to improve students’ vocabulary achievement. Keywords: Vocabulary achievement, content word, animated video
