Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran Pasukan Garuda dalam keikutsertaan menjaga perdamaian dunia di Timur Tengah tahun 1957-2009. Objek pada penelitian ini, yaitu perdamaian dunia di Timur Tengah. Sedangkan subjek penelitian ini adalah Pasukan Garuda. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia (ANRI) dan Perpustakaan Nasional (PERPUSNAS) secara daring. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode historis. Masalah penelitian ini adalah konflik di Timur Tengah yang berkepanjangan. Adapun hasil penelitian ini, yaitu Pasukan Garuda berperan aktif dalam bidang militer dan sosial. Pada bidang militer Pasukan Garuda berpartisipasi dalam penyelesaian konflik, diantaranya penyelesaian konflik pada Krisis Suez tahun 1957, Perang 6 hari/Yomkippur tahun 1967, Perang Teluk I (1988) dan II (1992), dan Konflik Lebanon tahun 2006. Pasukan Garuda juga berperan aktif dalam bidang sosial, yaitu melakukan kegiatan pendidikan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai perdamaian pada generasi muda di Lebanon untuk senantiasa menjaga perdamaian, restorasi fasilitas dan infrastruktur yang rusak akibat perang, serta membuat mobil pintar yang berisikan buku-buku untuk meningkatkan literasi masyarakat setempat. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Pasukan Garuda berperan aktif dalam upaya menciptakan perdamaian dunia. Kata Kunci: Pasukan Garuda; Perdamaian Dunia; Timur Tengah This study aims to determine the role of the Garuda Forces in participating for maintaining world peace in the Middle East on 1957-2009. The object of this research is world peace in the Middle East. While the subject of this research is the Garuda Troops. This research was conducted at the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) and the National Library of Indonesia (PERPUSNAS) . This study uses a qualitative approach with historical methods. This study uses the historical method because the researcher takes the object of the events that occurred in the past. The results of this study, namely the Garuda Forcess play an active role in the military and social fields. In the military field, Garuda Forces participated in conflict resolution, including conflict resolution in the Suez crisis in 1957, the 6-day war/Yomkippur in 1967, the Gulf wars I (1988) and II (1992), and the Lebanese conflict in 2006. Garuda troops also played an active role. in the social field, Garuda Forces carrying out educational activities to instill peace values in the younger generation in Lebanon to always maintain peace, restoration of facilities and infrastructure damaged by war, as well as making smart cars containing books to increase the literacy of local people. Based on this, it can be concluded that the Garuda Forces play an active role in efforts to create world peace. Keyword: Garuda Forces; World Peace; Middle East.
