Indonesia telah tergabung dalam PBB pada 28 September 1950 sebagai anggota ke-60. Pencapaian terbesar Indonesia sejak bergabung dengan PBB hingga tahun 1960 salah satunya dengan mengirimkan Soekarno untuk berpidato dalam sidang Majelis Umum PBB yang dilaksanakan di New York tahun 1960. Pidato yang Soekarno sampaikan pada Sidang Majelis Umum PBB pada 30 September 1960 di New York yang berjudul To Build The World a New, sidang ini di hadiri wakil negara di seluruh Dunia. Pidato tersebut berisi dakwaan Soekarno terhadap bangsa-bangsa di Dunia yang masih melakukan praktik kolonialisme dan imperialisme. Diplomasi melalui pidato Soekarno tersebut merupakan salah satu instrumen penting dalam pelaksanaan kepentingan nasional suatu negara pada saat itu. Penelitian ini memiliki rumusan masalah apasajakah pengaruh pidato Soekarno To Build The World a New pada sidang Majelis Umum PBB tahun 1960 di bidang politik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan mengenai pengaruh pidato Soekarno To Build The World a New pada sidang Majelis Umum PBB tahun 1960. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan teknik studi pustaka dan dokumentasi, serta teknik analisis kualitatif interaktif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dikeluarkannya sebuah resolusi Majelis Umum PBB 1514, dilaksanakannya konferensi Non-Blok 1961, dan Indonesia mendapat dukungan perundingan masalah Irian Barat. Pidato To Build The World A New mendapat respon yang baik dari negara-negara di dunia dibuktikan saat suasana sidang riuh sorakan dari ara wakil negara didunia dan terjadi beberapa perubahan kearah positif setelah dibacakannya pidato tersebut. Indonesia's biggest achievement since joining the UN until 1960 was one of them by sending Sukarno to address the UN General Assembly held in New York in 1960. The speech Soekarno delivered at the UN General Assembly on 30 September 1960 in New York was entitled To Build The World a New, this session was attended by representatives of countries around the world. The speech contained Soekarno's accusations against the nations of the world who still practice colonialism and imperialism. Diplomacy through Soekarno's speech was one of the important instruments in the implementation of a country's national interests at that time. This study has formulated the problem of what influence Soekarno's speech To Build The World a New at the UN General Assembly in 1960 had on politics. The purpose of this research is to find out and describe the influence of Soekarno's speech To Build The World a New at the UN General Assembly in 1960. The method used in this research is descriptive method with literature and documentation techniques, as well as interactive qualitative analysis techniques. The results of this study were the issuance of a UN General Assembly resolution 1514, the implementation of the 1961 Non-Aligned Conference, and Indonesia receiving support for negotiations on the West Irian issue. The speech To Build The World A New received a good response from countries in the world as evidenced by the boisterous atmosphere of the assembly from representatives of countries in the world and there were several positive changes after the speech was read.
