ABSTRAK REPRESENTASI NILAI-NILAI KARAKTER ANAK PADA KOMIK ONLINE WEBTOON (Studi Semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce pada Komik Online Webtoon “Pupus Putus Sekolah”) Pupus Putus Sekolah adalah komik yang memiliki genre slice of life menceritakan tentang keseharian Pupus yang ingin belajar banyak hal tetapi ia mengalami putus sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami representasi nilai-nilai karakter anak dalam Komik Pupus Putus Sekolah. Tipe penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif yaitu dengan cara reduksi data, menampilkan data dalam bentuk tabel dan deskripsi, analisis data menggunakan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce, dan menarik kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga tahapan analisis semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce diantaranya tahap pertama Representamen terdiri dari Qualisign, Sinsign, dan Legisign, tahap kedua Object terdiri dari Icon, Index, dan Symbol, dan tahap ketiga Interpretan terdiri dari Rheme, Dicent Sign, dan Argument. Penelitian ini berfokus pada dialog dan tindakan nonverbal dari 23 episode season 1 Komik Pupus Putus Sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Komik Pupus Putus Sekolah merepresentasikan nilai-nilai karakter anak yang baik dan buruk. Komik Pupus Putus Sekolah merepresentasikan delapan nilai-nilai karakter baik diantaranya yaitu nilai tanggung jawab, nilai peduli sosial, nilai komunikatif, nilai rasa ingin tahu, nilai kerja keras, nilai gemar membaca, nilai jujur, dan nilai menghargai prestasi. Nilai-nilai karakter buruk yang ditampilkan komik ini yaitu nilai kurang sopan santun, nilai tidak jujur, dan nilai rendah diri. Komik Pupus Putus Sekolah ini menonjolkan karakter Pupus yang mengalami putus sekolah, menyinggung tentang pengajaran dalam dunia pendidikan yang kurang mendukung anak yang memiliki kepribadian yang berbeda-beda, dan menggambarkan bahwa pengetahuan tentang nilai-nilai kehidupan tidak hanya dapat diperoleh melalui pendidikan formal. ABSTRACT REPRESENTATION OF CHILD CHARACTER VALUES IN WEBTOON ONLINE COMIC (Charles Sanders Peirce Semiotics Study on the Webtoon Online Comic “Pupus Dropout School”) By ADIRA NUR ADRIANY Pupus Dropout School is a comic that has a slice-of-life genre that tells about the daily life of Pupus who wants to learn many things but he experiences dropping out of school. This study aims to understand the representation of children's character values in the Pupus Dropout School Comic. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative using data reduction, displaying data in the form of tables and descriptions, analyzing data using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics, and drawing conclusions. This study uses three stages of Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic analysis including the first stage of Representamen consisting of Qualisign, Sinsign, and Legisign, the second stage of Object consisting of Icon, Index, and Symbol, and the third stage of Interpretation consisting of Rheme, Dicent Sign, and Argument. This research focuses on dialogue and non-verbal actions from 23 episodes of season 1 of Pupus Dropout School Comic. The results of the study showed that Pupus Dropout School Comic represented good and bad children's character values. Pupus Dropout School Comic represents eight good character values including the value of responsibility, the value of social care, the value of communicative or friendliness, the value of curiosity, the value of hard work, the value of fond of reading, the value of being honesty, and the value of appreciating achievement. The bad character values displayed in this comic are the lack of courtesy, dishonesty, and low self-esteem. This Pupus Drops School comic features the character Pupus who has dropped out of school, alludes to teaching in education that does not support children with different personalities, and illustrates that knowledge about life values cannot only be obtained through formal education.
