Sungai Way Seputih merupakan salah satu sungai besar di Provinsi Lampung. Aliran sungai tersebut berada di Kecamatan Terbanggi Besar dan Kecamatan Seputih Mataram, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Adanya kegiatan penduduk, pertanian, dan penambangan pasir dapat memengaruhi kualitas perairan. Selain berdampak pada lingkungan, hal ini juga dapat menyebabkan penurunan kualitas air permukaan. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengkaji struktur komunitas makrozoobentos dan tingkat pencemaran perairan Sungai Way Seputih Lampung Tengah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari-Febuari 2023 di 2 stasiun dimana stasiun 1 berada di daerah penambangan pasir di Kecamatan Terbanggi Besar dan stasiun adalah 2 daerah pertanian dan permukiman di Kecamatan Seputih Mataram. Pada lokasi penelitian dilakukan penentuan stasiun dengan metode purposive sampling. Jenis makrozoobentos yang ditemukan sebanyak 16 spesies yang terdiri dari 3 kelas, yaitu bivalvia, clitellata, dan gastropoda. Jenis makrozoobentos dengan kelimpahan tertinggi yaitu Pila ampullacea dengan kelimpahan 146 ind/m³. Indeks keanekaragaman makrozoobentos 1,78 termasuk kategori (sedang), keseragaman 0,91 (tinggi) dan dominasi 0,19 (rendah). Tingkat pencemaran Sungai Way Seputih berdasarkan kurva ABC adalah tercemar sedang. Kata kunci: Kualitas air, kurva ABC, makrozoobentos, pencemaran The Way Seputih River is one of the major rivers in Lampung Province.The river flow is in the District of Terbanggi Besar and District of Seputih Mataram, Central Lampung Regency. The existence of population activities, agriculture and sand mining can affect the quality of the waters, in addition to having an impact on the environment this can also have an impact on decreasing the quality of surface water. The aims of the research were to examine the community structure of macrozoobenthos and to examine the pollution level of the Way Seputih River, Central Lampung. This research was conducted in January-February 2023 at 2 stations where station 1 was a sand mining area in the District of Terbanggi Besar and station 2 was an agricultural and residential area in Seputih Mataram District. At the research location, station determination was carried out using the method purposive sampling. There were 16 species of macrozoobenthos consisted of 3 classes namely bivalves, clitellata, and gastropoda. The type of macrozoobenthos with the highest abundance, pila ampullacea with abundance 146 ind/m³. The macrozoobenthos diversity index was 1.78 in the medium category, 0.91 for high uniformity and 0.19 for low dominance. The pollution level of the Way Seputih River based on the ABC curve was moderately polluted. Keywords: Water quality, ABC curve, macrozoobenthos, pollution
