Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran Penyuluh Pertanian Lapangan (PPL) dalam peningkatan kelas kemampuan kelompok tani, menganalisis faktorfaktor yang berhubungan dengan peran Penyuluh Pertanian Lapangan (PPL), dan menganalisis hubungan peran Penyuluh Pertanian Lapangan (PPL) dengan peningkatan kelas kelompok tani. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Ambarawa Kabupaten Pringsewu. Pengambilan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari-Maret 2023. Responden pada penelitian ini adalah 3 PPL , dan 36 kelompok tani. Responden yang diambil dari kelompok adalah ketua, sekretaris, dan bendahara. Total responden berjumlah 108 petani. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data secara deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Peran PPL dalam meningkatkan kelas kemampuan kelompok tani di Kecamatan Ambarawa termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan peran PPL dalam meningkatkan kelas kelompok tani yaitu kekosmopolitan, jumlah kelompok binaan, dan dukungan pemerintah desa. Hubungan antara peran PPL terhadap peningkatan kelas kemampuan kelompok tani sebesar 21,7% termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Peran PPL sebagai fasilitator, dinamisator, motivator, dan edukator berhubungan nyata dengan peningkatan kelas kemampuan kelompok tani, sedangkan peran PPL sebagai inovator tidak berhubungan nyata dengan peningkatan kelas kemampuan kelompok tani. Kata kunci: peran,penyuluh pertanian,kelas kelompok This study aims to determine the role of the Agricultural Extension Officer (PPL) in improving the class ability of farmer groups, to analyze the factors related to the role of the Agricultural Extension Officer (PPL), and to analyze the relationship between the role of the Agricultural Extension Officer (PPL) and the class improvement of farmer groups. This research was conducted in Ambarawa District, Pringsewu Regency. Data collection in this study was carried out in February-March 2023. Respondents in this study were 3 PPL and 36 farmer groups. Respondents taken from the group are the chairman, secretary, and treasurer. Total respondents amounted to 108 farmers. This study uses descriptive data analysis with a quantitative approach. The results showed that the role of PPL in increasing the ability class of farmer groups in Ambarawa District was included in the high category. Factors related to the role of PPL in increasing the class of farmer groups are cosmopolitanism, the number of fostered groups, and support from the village government. The relationship between the role of PPL and the increase in class ability of farmer groups by 21.7% is included in the low category. The role of PPL as a facilitator, dynamist, motivator, and educator is significantly related to an increase in class ability of farmer groups, while the role of PPL as an innovator is not significantly related to an increase in class ability of farmer groups.
