Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the obstacles, perceptions, and advantages of journalism specialisation courses obtained by students of the French Department at Lampung University class of 2019 in the 2021/2022 Academic Year. This research is a descriptive qualitative research using semi-interview data collection techniques. The data in this research were tested using triangulation. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, the researcher found that the obstacles experienced by students are categorised into internal and external obstacles. Meanwhile, student perceptions are positive and included in the social perception category. Thus, through this journalism specialisation course, students gain benefits in the fields of skills, knowledge, attitudes, and new views related to the world of journalism obtained in theory in class and when carrying out various journalistic practices in the field.
