Abstrak
ABSTRAK BAHASA INDONESIA Persentase serat kasar yang berbeda dalam ransum dapat memengaruhi performa ayam jantan tipe medium seperti konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat tubuh, konversi ransum, dan income over feed cost (IOFC). Ayam jantan tipe medium merupakan sumber protein hewani yang penting dalam memenuhi kebutuhan gizi sehari-hari. Ayam jantan tipe medium mempunyai tekstur daging yang hampir sama dengan daging ayam kampung, sehingga lebih banyak disukai oleh para konsumen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui pengaruh ransum dengan persentase serat kasar yang berbeda terhadap performa ayam jantan tipe medium dan (2) mengetahui kandungan serat kasar terbaik dalam ransum terhadap performa ayam jantan tipe medium. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 12 September sampai 20 Oktober 2014 di kandang Rama Jaya Farm, Karang Anyar, Kecamatan Jati Agung, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Persentase serat kasar ransum perlakuan yaitu R0: 4%, R1: 6%, R2: 8%, dan R3: 10%. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan analisis ragam, apabila analisis ragam menunjukkan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata maka dilakukan pengujian lanjut dengan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) ransum dengan persentase serat kasar yang berbeda tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat tubuh, konversi ransum, dan income over feed cost pada ayam jantan tipe medium dan (2) ransum dengan persentase serat kasar yang berbeda memberikan pengaruh yang sama baiknya terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat tubuh, konversi ransum, dan income over feed cost pada ayam jantan tipe medium. Kata kunci: Ransum, Serat kasar, Performa ayam jantan tipe medium ABSTRAK BAHASA INGGRIS Different percentages of crude fiber in rations can affect the performance type of medium rooster such as ration consumption, body weight gain, conversion ratio, and income over feed cost (IOFC). Rooster medium type is an important source of animal protein to meet their daily nutritional needs. Rooster have a medium type of meat texture similar to chicken meat, so the more favored by consumers. This study aims to: (1) determine the effect of rations with different percentages of crude fiber on performance rooster type medium and (2) determine the best coarse fiber content in the diet on performance rooster type of medium. This study was conducted in 12 September until 20 October 2014 located in cage of Rama Jaya Farm, Karang Anyar, Jati Agung Court, South Lampung regency. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Ration percentage of crude fiber are R0:4%, R1:6%, R2:8%, and R3:10%. Data obtained was statistically tested to determine the effect of treatments to the variables observed by variance analysis. Then, it was continued by using Least Significant Different (LSD) on significant level 5%. The result of this study showed that (1) ration with different percentages of crude fiber was not significant (P>0.05) to ration consumption, body weight gain, conversion ratio, and income over feed cost on roosters type of medium. (2) rations with different percentages of crude fiber was give equally good effect on ration consumption, body weight gain, conversion ratio, and income over feed cost on roosters type of medium.
